Ro yeah, every fandom has some bad apples it's just that there happens to be a larger amount of them as armies, it's still an okay-ish fandom but the toxicity is real. And if I'm being honest almost all fandoms are dedicated and look up to their idols, so I don't really think it's something notable. Some armies are amazing, but the bad ones are many and go out of their way to be rude, so to give you my opinion, army is toxic because you often can't go through a day without seeing atleast one negative remark commented by an army, it of course comes with the fame bts are getting but oh god can you guys be rude. I might not have the same experience as you but when I was watching a Chinese drama ( skate into love) your fandom was being utterly annoying and yelling about jungkook in the live chat. No offense to bts because they slay, it's just that some of their fans are dumb.

I'm not Korean but from what I've watched in k-variety and k-dramas, it's definitely a cultural thing. Even women refer to it. I don't believe its intended to imply objectification when they refer to women as sexy. It's kind of like how the ancient Greeks had different words for different kinds of attraction/love. Sexual attraction (eros) was one of them and in and of itself does not have a negative connotation. We have that negative connotation now because so often sexual attraction and sexual objectification come together. It's sad because, first off, we have people being sexually objectified, but also because when we assume negative connotations to words, we wind up using words we don't mean just to avoid that negative connotation and it can lead to misunderstanding
