Enjoyed this “Aftermath” style of video. There’s a lot to learn. And I wholly agree with the Lumineth talk. All the negativity combined with a lot of losing with “not 30 Sentinels and stuff” made me stop painting and playing the army. I hope we get a better book in autumn.

I have been having great games with Idoneth Deepkin. I love taking both the Tidecaster and Eidolon and having the Tidecaster teleport the Eidolon forward and casting Burning Head, Cloying Seamist, and then debuffing their armor and/or charge distance. :D

yeah I love my Eidolon spell strats - the Tidecaster seems like a hefy cost at 150 especially when trying to fit into one drops and needing some of the other cheaper more utility support heroes

Great video, just subscribed! I'm new to AoS, started a few months ago and have just over 2k points worth of Deepkin now. I agree that they're super fun to play but a little challenging as a beginner. I feel like it's a good army to grow with while learning the game at a deeper level. Quick question, do you ever run the Aspect of the Storm or is the Sea just far superior?

Thanks for the sub and welcome to the channel. I've been writing some lists with Aspect of Storm - I just struggle to have a meaningful magic phase without aspect of Sea. I actually think the storm can be decent - arcane tome on another hero like a soulrender can get you a spell/unbind as well but the sea just adds a lot to my list.

Interesting that you said Idoneth play like Dark Elves of old. I always thought the lore is very much that of the Wood Elves. Having been High Elves/Lumineth before (kinda), founding their own empire, living in isolation, defending their territory but eventually having to venture out because all of the world is in danger. Which faction, if any, would you say plays like Wood Elves of the old world?

Been playing Deepkin since they came out. Disliked this new book on release and spending more time with it has only made my disdain deepen (pun intended) It's never been fun to play against Deepkin mostly based on high tide and for shooting armies it's forgotten nightmares. This could be ammended with more tools (more NEW units) but instead we just touched things up a notch, with the new Book we are more feelbad to play against than ever with the kings new ability making it so we overly rely on high tide with meele or shooting with sharks and reavers witch is very non interactive and with double turns can feel very game-y. Less items and traits, one new hq and rituals being reworked into buffs. Touched up the warscrolls. And now we have to wait 4 years until we see any new changes.
