@@habine8123 Good singers can empathise with lyrics, and if they have the skill or artistry they will project the emotion they feel in the song. My guess is that some of these experiences might be more important for writing rather than singing songs. Whatever, she certainly projects huge emotion here. Scott, of PMJ, heard Catie the previous year when Haley invited her to sing a duet with her of Oops I Did It Again on her show in which Scott was playing piano. The clip is on YT.

People comparing this to the original, saying this has more emotion. Well ofc it does, it's a jukebox rendition. All their songs sound more emotional. The original is Billie's interpretation of her own work, the way she wants to hear it. It's not resigned, there's a differnt feeling to when a song is calmly sung. And there's also a different feelin for when it's expressively sung. The original and this rendition is in different genres.

@@seoyeonpark469 Nice, that's very interesting. Makes a lot of sense. If you've never heard The Gunner's Dream by Pink Floyd, you should check it out. There's a part around the middle of the song where his vocals transition into a saxophone solo, and it's so smooth and perfect it takes you a second to realize it's a saxophone and not his voice anymore.
