This has to be the biggest Oscar snub of all time. In what world was Christian Bale's performance in The Big Short better than Idris Elba's in Beasts of No Nation? So happy he won here at least. The Oscars are getting more and more irrelevant as the years go by.

Sylvester was standard Sylvester and Christian Bale was very annoying in The Big Short. Havent seen this but Idris is always good, will check it out.

Stallone as Rocky is basically a more humble, distressed version of Sly Stallone. Idris totally IMMERSED himself into the role of Commandant and became a totally different person. He was a chameleon. Sly and Rocky are close to one and the same people. It's like Robert Downey Jr. and Tony Stark. He plays that role PERFECTLY, but that's obviously because it's not a stretch from who Robert actually is.

I've seen Beasts of no Nation & it was one of the most intense movies I've ever seen. The lead & idris Elba should have at least been nominated for oscars. Some people say the acting oscar awards aren't diverse because there were no real roles for colored actors..which is true to an extent but then when you have performances like these you wonder what more does an actor of color needs to do get recognition even when he has a meaty role?

I Just finished watching that movie and God, Idris Elba it's just the best, but this boy too, they're so intense and naturals. In the other hand the story is incredible sad and makes you think the worse about this world.
