What a great way to wrap up the conclusion of The Phantom Rider Arc.

But if you want a good version of Eggman, then you should read the Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog series which introduces an alternate universe where Eggman is good and Sonic is evil. Or you could read the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog series which features Mr. Tinkerer. It is ALSO very good.

In Sonic Generations (when it first came out) the Shadow boss fight would reward the player with the yellow Chaos Emerald, which was a reference to the fake emerald Tails made in SA2. Then, in Sonic 06, the yellow emerald was also located in the desert temple wherein Shadow would have his final confrontation with Mephiles. As for Shadow Generations, well I'm not going to spoil anything for people who haven't played the game.

and not listening to your teammates,not giving Whisper and Silver the benefit of the doubt, throwing Whisper over, being bossy and stubborn, gaslighting her teammates and affecting their self-esteem, not investigating Team Sonic's boards' malfunction and disqualifying them for nothing, being uncaring for their plight, breaking the track in her zeal to catch the phantom rider, calling out Tangle and Whisper for protecting a criminal when she herself was doing such a thing and ignoring people in danger for catching a criminal. at the very least, she was open enough to listen to Tangle and Whisper in issue 74 to let go of Sonic for now and focus on saving the people in the falling Shuttle and when Duo was exposed and Lanolin realised that Silver and Whisper were right and that she protected a dangerous criminal and that she had been listening to and been controlled by him, and she then realised that she had actually done wrong, she improved her behaviour, helped with calming the crowd and escorting the shuttle to land away from the city and realised that the people are what makes the restoration, not the buildings

eggman actually won the four way fight. he came prepared for Surge's power, all four got in each others' way, Surge took everyone else down and exhausted herself, and Eggman's mech resisted and was able to take care of Clutch, leaving Sonic and Surge to recover. could've been worse though, he could've destroyed Sonic and Surge right there and then

I've mentioned this before, but look at the scene at 11:45, when everyone is running in terror from the ship, there's one background character, a green fox-like creature in an orange coat, that stood out to me. Rather than fleeing like everyone else is, or outright ignoring the chaos, he's just standing there with his arms crossed staring up at the ship. Maybe I'm looking too deeply into this, but there just seems to be something off about that guy.

I liked this issue a lot. It sets things off with a bang. Now I can’t wait for Silver to return. I hope it goes smoothly, since Lanolin made a mistake and I wouldn’t be upset if she was forgiven so we can move past the “I don’t like that Sheep Girl” thing in some places. If anything, it’ll be a good parallel to Whisper’s initial mistake, and Silver’s initial mistake from 06. I wouldn’t be surprised if next week see if Clutch, he’s roboticized and forced under Eggman’s control similar to the Egg Bosses from Archie. Rough and Tumble, I’d be happy if they permanently went good. It would be nice to have some heroic males out of them since they could be fun to have around. Or they could be goofy anti-villains for hire like Bean and Bark. Glad it all worked out. It was cool

@@siphonthemoth Still think they could've added a scene where Tangle and Whisper catch onto Duo being Mimic due to his own slip of the tongue that he knew that they knew that sonic was the phantom rider in spite of being unconscious and he couldn't have learnt it from them or anyone else who knew or they told: Jewel: they only told her shortly before the last race, with Lanolin being the proof since she was with Mimic the whole time since Babylon Rogues: they were outside the ship the whole time since misty spire and there's video evidence of Duo no going anywhere near them Surge and Kit: Whisper kept an eye on them as she said in issue 67, bearing witness to the fact that Duo never went anywhere near them they then link his knowledge of their knowledge to the fact that there was a second phantom rider, which explains who Duo could've known, and in spite of Duo's attempted sweet-talk of Lanolin to defend him, the sheep considers the possibility, since by then her head's more clearer, Tangle and Whisper's evidence, though circumstantial, makes sense, and it explains why he's always been supporting her decisions which have caused discord and why he's been telling her what she's wanted to hear, not to mention why his info's been causing further discord, and THEN Clutch would nail the final nail in the coffin

One last race with some very high stakes; a great Christmas gift! I can't believe Mimic was discovered that easily. Thanks a lot for blowing his cover, Clutch. And Lanolin having a reality bath was worth it for her to redeem when she needed to do what was right; hope to see a little story where she apologizes to Silver. Mimic escaped once again and Whisper's mission continues. The Eggstreme Gear turning into a robot controlled by Eggman was something I was expecting to see, given how he was barely present in this arc, but him kidnapping Clutch after that fight was truly unexpected. What plans does he have with the oppossum? The only thing I can think of right now is robotization, a-la Archie. Surge, in the end, decided to become an anti-heroine. She definitly has the power to do so with that overcharge thunder (it's a miracle Sonic was able to survive that massive voltage), and her and Kit running off still show that they need more adventures in order to learn and keep up with the heroes. The Babylon Rogues were real heroes, being able to convince the people to help maneuver the ship to a "safe zone", as well as save the ones trapped in Restoration HQ; strange they didn't use their own ship as support. But the rivalry between him and Sonic isn't settled; a new race is promised and he wants to prove is the best on equal terms - respect between "friends". Restoration HQ was destroyed, but its people still stand. The restoration might take a while, and this can be the perfect opportunity for the heroes to go back to the status quo. That is until what we saw in that last page; someone entered Tails' home and stole the Chaos Emerald and I have no idea what to think of that location - it looks like some ruins but with a bit of "organic" in the walls. What might be the next big arc? This arc was amazing. A true callback to the Riders series with an interesting story, and some brilliant ideas for a possible new game in the series. I know we already going to have a new racing game, with Racing Crossworlds, but there's something about Riders that's so unique in comparison to other racing titles.

I guess Lanolin comes off as an alas poor scrappy, given the sorry state though some were expecting to be overjoyed at her humbled and shocked face as she was proven wrong instead of Whisper and Silver. A part of me actually feels bad for her, and she did indeed use her wispon as a way to redeem herself as I hoped, though not the way I imagined. I though she'd use it to free the trapped heroes and Rough and Tumble. but, hey, using it as a microphone to calm the crowd is good enough.

She communicates, she values everyone input, she’s strong and reliable, she knows when to stand her ground and help people listen to one another. Well that's basically the same aspect like freaking with Thor in Thor Ragnarok. with basically the whole Asgard thing with his father after his father passed away and that crazy evil sister Hella, I believe or something like that. basically tried to take over and cost destruction and pain almost all over the place like crazy in Asgard. It's not the place or the kingdom that exists around that world, Asgard is basically your people that you're represent your family and your kingdom, your civilization and your world that you basically represent as your country and your race. It doesn't matter the place, the place could comes and go and get all destroyed as it please. in the end Asgard and basically restoration HQ with the IDW Sonic Universe. it's basically representation of the people that you're along the way with to represent who you are as a family.

I like this arc with it finally done so we don’t have to deal with Mimic/duo thing anymore. However, a lot is going around of people guessing who took the chaos Emerald from Tails house that Shadow is going to likely recover. I be curious on who do you think it could have been Megabeat. My guesses are as follows. 1. Starline in a robot body. I say that cause Starline could still be alive as a spirit possessing a robot body to get his revenge, only he has gone more insane. 2. Black Doom. I say this since we don’t know if Shadow generations is canon to the comics or not. If so, Black doom may have a contingency plan if his plan in that game backfired. If not, then it could be the Black arms return. If neither of these, then it has to be someone that can take on Shadow & know how to get in Tails house.

If I got to sum up this issue in one phrase. “Everyone in this: I’M FIGHTING FOR MY MFING LIFE OUT HERE MAN!” But hey first I need to give some props to Clutch. I mean the man over here with 4 people on him and he’s surviving. He’s putting up a fight. Now he’s not winning per se, but surviving is still impressive for a regular guy with a strap. Against 3 superpowered individuals and a mech. That’s nothing to laugh at. Clutch got some moves for an old guy. Maybe that’s why they call him clutch, get it? Now the real question is can he clutch up when he meets Eggman? Idk what Eggman going to do to him. He might put his head on robot dog and become his personal pet. Heck he might make him like Cain from RoboCop 2. Now Minic. Oh Minic, Minic. I just know his heart must’ve stopped when that radio went off in front of the team. He must’ve be fuming 😡 on the inside cause why the heck did Clutch call him at that exact moment. I would be piss at Clutch, but I also got to get on Minic as well. Because why did you have that turn on in your pocket in the present of your team? That was a little dumb. But hey, at least he was smart enough to hit the jets. He run for his life and I don’t blame him. You saw how quickly Whisper and Tangle turn their vehicles around? They were on his butt. Those two were like, “hey where you running to!? Bring that ah here and come catch these strokes my guy! We got a spiky strap on with your name on it!!” Yeah no, I would gone. I’m leaving the country, the states! Changing my name and face permanently. You ain’t never seeing me again if I was Minic in this situation.

Not the biggest fan of how Mimic got revealed, just Clutch talking too loudly. Realized that we haven't really seen the Chaos Emeralds since around Issue 30.

I didn't think this until I read it, but that was actually the best way it could have happened. Mimic constantly throws others under the bus, now HE got thrown under the bus. Mimic is a MASSIVE coward, afraid of literally ANYONE who can put up a fight; so, he tries to stay hidden at all costs. His own employer unwittingly forcing him out of the darkness and into the light where his defense shrivels up in the sun was plenty cathartic. He doesn't even get the satisfaction of mocking Lanolin for her stupidity because he's too scared of getting hurt or caught in the slightest.

Only part of the issue i didnt like was the doubling down on the Sonic as a paragon thing with him trying to get Clutch to "apologize" and apprehend him. That wasn't very Sonic imo. Clutch just tried to murder an entire city and use the restoration as additional resources for his shady operations before that. While I am dissatisfied with his loss of roguish character in this instance, i was happy to see Surge zap him when his guard was down, kinda cementing the idea that yeah maybe Sonic shouldn't try to be so soft on villains, kinda loops back to when Surge first told him off about that, that _maybe_ his philosophical speech was indeed, flawed.

He was more than likely trying to belittle Clutch by talking to him as if the old coot is a child; I doubt Sonic was being serious when he said that. Remember what he said to Eggman in the beginning of Unleashed? _"If you played nice, I wouldn't have to break all your toys."_

You didn't fail the Restoration, Jewel, Lanolin failed you. Had she listened to reason for 2 seconds, Mimic would have been caught! Clutch would never have proposed a deal with you with his mole out of the way, and the HQ would still be standing. However, as leader, it is your job to take responsibility for her actions and do justly to her. Also... just try to background check BEFORE making a partnership. ...aaaaand don't accept Chaos Cola from strangers.

I was expecting Duo's exposure to come later and for Whisper and Tangle to figure him out, due to his own slip of the tongue in issue 74 and their mask footage evidence in issue 71. nothing a little adding extra scenes in issues 74 and 75 or head canon can fix. at the very least, Lanolin was shocked, humbled and realised that she's done wrong and her pride crumbles like biscuits

I admit, I may never fully forgive Lanolin, but I still hope she at least becomes more tolerable from this point forward, like in Urban Warfare.

What would've happened if Silver had a grudge against Lanolin and seeked revenge after what she did? Imagine how'd the events have played out? How'd Lanolin have liked that now? How'd that story arc have been like? And how'd you all have liked a "Silver's Revenge Arc"?

Holding a grudge is one thing; but Silver wouldn't do anything worse than berate her. Even at his worst, Silver is not the time to kill or maim out of revenge; he's still just about always trying to stop a bad guy.

@@tlst94 Dude, if anyone's likely to commit suicide, it's Mimic; but only if Whisper fakes her own death. If Mimic gets what he wants but realizes he STILL can't move one like he WANTS to, he might just lose all hope.

Gotta admit, the IDW sonic comics were less upsetting and dramatic than the archie comics by comparison, given archie had Sally and Sonic's break-up, Robo-Sally, Nicole being discriminated and exiled, etc (one reason why I liked the reboot, because it escaped all that), plus IDW has less scrappies than Archie.

@@videogollumer oh yeah, how could I forget. it was also the day that Tails' parents, Amadeus and Rosemary, ended up becoming scrappies, scrappies that NEED to be improved for HIS sake, and if Black Doom can escape the scrappy list, then maybe so can they. while Sonic Archie online might improve them later on, I can't count on that, so I'm doing something on Deviantart in the form of literature, in which the freedom fighters and the council have a debate to settle things once and for all, calling out each other for their faults in certain situations, all the while having to deal with an organisation based on Zodiac star signs, and during which, Rosmary especially finally comes to terms with her faults and is also played more sympathetically and more useful in it. It's still a working progress given my hesitation to see the whole archie story and lack of full knowledge, I may need to know the full extent of the faults of the council during the enerjak incident, the fall of freedom HQ and the faults of the freedom fighters during the iron Dominion arc, plus the faults of each individual council member and freedom fighter, as one of the chapters includes Sonic undermining the council members one at a time, ending with Rosemary

@@RobertJames-i8j In all fairness; people tend to make them out to be worse then they are, such as by ignoring the obvious fact that they actually care about their son. Also, Tails wasn't under any delusions when his dad staged a coup against the Acorn House; he was horrified! He only took his side after Sonic was all "Yeesh, Tails! You're dad's an idiot!". Although it was a combination of things that set Tails off, it was still made apparent that Sonic was underestimating Tails' love for his parents. Tails wouldn't have been willing to break ties with Sonic of all people for the sake of his parents if they were awful to him like some fanfics may suggest.

I can't believe the writers did this! I don't approve of them destroying restoration HQ! How dare you jerks do that? I've decided to give up my hatred of Lanolin and the Chef Orangutan cause my girlfriend convinced me its not worth hating on them and to give them a chance. Though, Lanolin, I still don't approve of her working with Tangle and Whisper, so she's got a ways to go to earn my respect and forgiveness. I may not approve of the things the writers do but I respect them.

I don’t mind the loss of the HQ. It held some characters back, kept the story close to one location and made the comics in all feel like a continuation of Forces. The games evolved way past that point so it makes sense for the comics to do the same.

Lanolin hasn't done anything noteworthy, she deserves whatever happens to her. I swear if she alone is the reason why the cast split off from eachother, especially Tangle and Whisper, I'm done supporting the comic series. The steady decline of good story telling has been effecting my enjoyment and if this happens it's the biggest nail in the enjoyment coffin leaving it less likely for it to be opened again.

So then we need to make Knuckles more accountable for his actions for being tricked by Eggman or his operation big wave in forces. She made a mistake and got tricked just like any other characters in this series.

@justynhill4814 the difference your ignoring is that unlike Knuckles, she gotten more and more set in her ways as well as continuously ignoring and berating the characters she would have no reason to distrust. Sonic is the legendary hero who saved both her and the world many times. Silver while nieve at times has more then proved himself to at least be listened to. Tangle and Whisper are her freaking teammates who she should take into account in a situation. But no, she repeatedly listens to Mimic blindly and in that case she Didn't care to check if Silver was OK after almost being eaten by a giant robot as well as Sonic, Tails and Amy just after they were in a crash only focused on what could of happened (a small disruption in a race) instead of what actually happened (her friends and superiors in the resistance hurting themselves from a crash) Caused the destruction of the raceway that would of resulted in massive injuries at best if Sonic didn't save them. Also after outright seeing Sonic help save people she still views him as an enemy. Broke her team apart by outright telling them she doesn't care about stuff and only cares on her ideals. Etc. Knuckles way tricked a few times sure and his failed attack caused massive losses but when he was tricked he never constantly made things worse and after immediately seeing evidence he was wrong he changed sides. And is failed attack was a risk from the start and people knew that. He made a call to action in a freaking war where the resistance was grasping at straws for months until Sonic came back to them. He made a play that he thought would stop the war while all Lanolin was doing was a small training session and working as security in a race. Defending Lanolin is like defending a police man using violence to resolve a disturbance between people protesting.

@- Silver was at the scenes where trouble was caused and the first time Lanolin asked him to be carful with the bolder was carrying but then lost his focus and caused a massive break that almost wiped everyone out. That was Mimic doing and he almost convinced Silver that he was the one at fault for showing off. If not for Whisper speaking and then Silver triggered her when he mentioned Mimic eyes. Then they made a very bad plan based on Whisper’s impatience and was on the concept if Duo takes damage or get scared enough he would reveal himself as Mimic. The problem was they did in a public area where his guard would be up double and it didn’t help they went behind the team backs tangle included. Then fast forward both Silver and Whisper were acting like they were above everyone and despite that they were right no evidence leads to nobody automatically believing them. Lanolin wanted to listen and try to understand the situation but Whisper was too consumed by revenge that she was done talking and acted too hostile to let her near Duo then Silver chased him and through the chaos Mimic used their aggression to mask his innocent and took a fall to “break” his arm which shocked both Whisper and Silver and in the end they didn’t get the results they wanted. So the results were Silver kicked off the team because he injured someone without no evidence to justify his actions. BUT he was not kicked off the restorations HQ as seen in the issue where Surge and Kit came to join. The problem was Silver and Whisper rushed their plan. They went behind their leaders back and without the evidence to justify their actions and the fact that they injured him someone had to take the punishment.

@justynhill4814 yes Silver and Whisper had no evidence and acted without the rest of the team. But 1. While it was a bad idea, the reasoning was if they told more people they risk Mimic copping on to his scheme, 2. if your life long enemy is sneaking around by you and you hear something that is to specific to only them you would jump at the chance to stop him before he cause any damage. Whisper acted hostle sure, but Mimic getting away ment if she didn't act now he would get away and they would never get the chance to unmask Mimic again. And all this is ignoring the fact Lanolin immediately jumped to Mimic's side despite *her teammate* who knows Mimic like the back of her hand was accusing him. Just because Silver was throwing out an accusation he could not prove and not even knowing about Mimic, when Mimic's name is coming out of nowhere you should at least hear them out. Also Whisper does have evidence, she saw Mimic trip up Silver and can back him up, yet Lanolin never gave her the chance to say anything preferring to shut down things ASAP. While yes Whisper should lead with that, Lanolin from the start refused to continue the discussion after kicking Silver off the team. All of this is just the writers of the story realising that they screwed up revealing suspicion on Mimic too early and writing themselves in a corner with *"how do we rap this bit up without explaining our way out of logical acts toward this situation"? "Oh i know, we force arguments between the cast and have a dramatic act (having Mimic fall off a chair only a few feet off the ground) that we pretend it is important enough to end the accusation of *attempting to let someone die* and that the concerns of a character who has trauma due to the dangerous person who can easily be outed with a conversation on Silver seeing a very specific trait that only Mimic has"*. Lanolin didn't get tricked immediately, she was stubborn with ending something that needed to be talked about more and Mimic then used that to his advantage

It’s true EggMan initially wanted Clutch dead, but the fact that he took him alive means EggMan has something more in store for the Crime Boss. Clutch meanwhile could cut a deal with EggMan, bartering intel his intel on Surge, Kit, and Mimic in exchange for his life. One of the main reasons Surge and Kit decided to work for Clutch was because he had info on their past before Dr. Starline got his hands on them. Now that EggMan has Clutch, he'll not only have that info which he can use as possible leverage against Surge and Kit. He’ll remember Mimic and how much that shapeshifter owes him. Clutch meanwhile could get off “easy” by becoming Eggman’s subordinate, similar to the Egg-Bosses from the Archie comics. Having Clutch’s whole operation working for him, scavenging/salvaging old Egg-tech from various places back into the EggMan Empire rather than selling it off to the highest bidder. Not to mention using Clutch’s underworld contacts for his needs, getting into touch with criminals of all sorts he could use against our Heroes.
