I know it's been out for a bit now, and I've read that people not running E85 fuel, standard 91/93 only, are seeing a small power gain over the 91/93 tunes from the sensor compensating for the ethanol content they do have. So, even if there's no good source of E85 nearby, you still may see a slight bump in power from the base ethanol in the fuel. This is definitely the route I'd like to go with mine, and I'm looking forward to getting all the kit for it!

2018 GTI Stage 1 with DSG tune Currently only running the 93 tune, and currently waiting on IE to release their own HPFP before I go with the True Flex.

It’s so fun running ethanol. Wish it was more readily available in my area. You can install their TrueFlex harness to prep for when the HPFP becomes available and just have it installed and waiting for when the HPFP arrives.

Thanks for posting the install video and step by step process. Made the install for my R super easy. Did IE ever tell you what the best Ethanol blend was for a Mk7 Golf R Stage 1 TrueFlex?
@Vaguh2 жыл бұрын
Glad you found this helpful! They did give me some details to share which I’ll do in another video soon. Ultimately e85 is the highest HP, but the jump every 10% of ethanol gets incrementally smaller up to e85.

Very informative build process love the content!

Thanks! It's pretty basic, but I hope it at least informs someone looking for the details!

This is cool - What did the beast do in the 1/4 mile though you left us hanging!! Are you planning on going stage 2 trueflex or happy with how it is now?

I might pick this up eventually since I have a station near by within walking distance with E-85. 🧐

Nice! Make sure you have the an upgraded HPFP and the TrueFlex harness in addition to the tune.

@@Vaguh yup yup, I'm gunna do a intercooler before as I live in Cali and it is *hot*

So with this kit and tune you can just run fill up full E85 like regular gas not worrying about mixing?blending all the time. I love e85 since is cheaper than gas and makes more power.
@Vaguh2 жыл бұрын
Yep, you can anything between 91 octane and e85 or any ratio mix in between.
@Vaguh2 жыл бұрын
I should add in case you didn't catch it in the video that you'll need an upgraded HPFP and IE's TrueFlex harness to run this tune.

this video was so helpful! im just wondering how we can read ethanol content if the fuel-it is not recommended with the IE trueflex. are there other options for gauges?
@Vaguh2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and glad you found it helpful! There isn’t a reason to need to know the ethanol content other than just wanting to know since the system manages it automatically. The ethanol content can be read through the IE Flash Wizard program on your computer. The best recommendation I have heard that won’t potentially interfere with the ethanol content signal to the ECU is getting a P3 Gauge. They were working on a way to allow the signal to be read through the ECU since this tune enables it. The other option would be to install a 2nd ethanol sensor in line and attach whatever device or gauge you want. I’ve read that the sensor doesn’t prohibit any amount of flow and installing a 2nd wouldn’t cause any issues.

@@Vaguh Thanks for getting back to me! I ask because I know E60-70 is the most efficient in terms of power and boost so I would want to know my ethanol content. I'll look into the P3 gauge for sure, I've been wanting one for a while now so maybe this could be a good excuse LOL! I appreciate the help :)
@Vaguh2 жыл бұрын
@@nckgti7 I just confirmed with P3 that all of their V3 gauges are capable of reading ethanol content through the OBD2 port. Some early V3 units didn’t have that capability and can be sent in to be upgraded for $50. Looks like I’ll be going this path too.

any updates, noticeable difference between stage 1 93 & stage 1 flex fuel? Have you done anything with stage 2 yet?
@Vaguh Жыл бұрын
Good question and I should do an update. Since this video I've run the the stage 2 Trueflex tune up to about e80 since thats the highest I could get locally. The difference between stage 1 93 (or 91 in my case) and full e85 Trueflex is significant and well worth it if you don't want to go stage 2 since you'll hit close to the same power level.

@@Vaguh Thanks, I'm local to you (Puyallup area), and running the IE tunes also. Have you thought about stage 3 ?
