Hello Louise, great to be another northerner, I'm from Manchester so like you I also can't be bothered with the hassle to go down to London for the biometrics! I've been in the pool since 30th December 2019. They have sent the first round of invitations out today (24/02/20) so I think it's time I apply for the police certificate! So much info, but really well explained! I do have a few questions: do you know if you need to purchase a Canadian insurance or could I enter with my Dutch insurance? I am covered all around the world with my insurance, but I’m not sure if that differs from your UK one... I understand if you don’t know the answer to this questions haha. Also, did you find a job/accommodation before hand? Is it hard or was it easy for you? If I go, I’d like to start my working-holiday by working in one of the big cities and figured it would be good to have found a job and accommodation before I arrive. Thanks!

Hi, I'm not sure if you can answer this but I have had my invitation to apply and I have all my documents ready to go and uploaded bar the CV/Resume. This is the one thing which is causing me the most stress as I have seen in different forums that if you leave a gap they will ask you for a travel form which will be even more stressful and tedious. Do you have any advice for how to format your CV for the IEC visa application to avoid any issues? P.S thanks to your video I was able to get my police certificates done in advance to minimise stress. :)

Hey, one question: If your IEC is granted, you have one year to enter Canada. Does that mean I have one year to enter Canada and then still get to spend one year there? Or does that mean I have one year to enter and let's say I enter Canada after three months of granting, I have 9 months in Canada left, so the longer I wait to enter Canada, the less time I get to spend there? I believe its valid for 6 months if your still living in the country if it was a country you have lived before but now moved then its valid for longer

Go on the canada.ca website and you can take a mini test to see what visa is best for you! By the sounds of It you could possibly get sponsored because I know there crying out for truck drivers!

Its ok I had loads of questions when I applied but never found the answers that is why I made these videos! :) So once your name is called out the pool you have to apply for the visa straight away which is scary when I didn't get mine till a month later! But once you get your visa you have 1 year to enter Canada to activate it. So Even though we got our visas at different times we activated them on the same date :) hope this makes sense?xxx

As soon as you are granted your visa you have 1 year to enter Canada :) Get in the pool sooner rather then later because sometimes it can takes months and months! :) xx

depends on age! if your under 30 you will get in as IEC everyone gets accepted at some point its just a waiting game. over 30 it is down to what job you have etc

I was selected from the pool after a week, you’re right it really is different for everyone! Has its downsides though I didn’t have enough time to get the police certificate on time but I was able to submit evidence that I had paid for it 💕 Update: Started IEC process in April 2023 and was fully approved after 6 weeks in June 2023. Hope this gives other people hope that it isn’t always a lengthy process 🫶🏾
