it should be 7.5 because the average score is 7.75.

A score with a surplus of 0.75 will be rouded up to the higher number nearest to it 7.75 becomes 8, 8.75 becomes 9 that said, a surplus of 0.625 will be rounded down to 0.5 (8.625 to 8.5)
