I got band 7 in my first IELTS test, and got 6.5 in speaking. Thought i could give you some mistakes I made so you can avoid it: 1. Accidentally switching to my native language. I only slipped once, but it was fatal. 2. Too straightforward and lack in details. I certainly extended my answer, but I think that wasn't enough lol i need to be more precise 3. Using limited vocabulary. I literally said the verb "Told" more than five times as i was too nervous to think about another similar words 💀 4. Saying "you" instead of 3rd pronoun. Just don't use "you" in the test, use "We" or "people" instead 5. Speaking too fast. Like, really fast. I tend to rush my speaking when i panic so PLEASE STAY CALM AND THINK CLEARLY.

she was stuttering a lot; Overall she mostly made use of basic vocabulary, which i guess was the killing factor for her score. However, i think that she deserves a 6 for coherence and flow. She did a good job stringing together sentences in a way that is easily understood by other people. If i dare say, she did better at that part even when compared to some Band 6.5s or 7.0s. But i understand that IELTS is a language test, and having a limited range of vocabulary will impact your score greatly.

I think 5.5 is fair because she performed with descent fluency, however her pace was to fast to say everything correct and consistent. She made a lot of grammar mistakes, including severe, like confusing word "also" in phrase "he always drove us" and "we don't know our neighbours no longer". Coherence I guess below mediocre. There were self corrections and self repetitions here and there, like "it was a mountain, the view on the mountains", "I think it's, it's, it's natural to help". And finally, you can't say here that you don't know the word in English without reducing a score by a lot. I believe she can easily improve all of this in no time and get a way better band.

(factories and companies are countable so should not use a lot, thats why shoud be that's why, with an apostrophe, but would not be noticeable in speaking mode).
