Today we're putting Martin on the spot - Put someone on the spot means, as per the dictionary, force someone into a position by asking a difficult question. Wonder if it has any other meaning. Also doing the test on the hot spot - what does it mean?

The examiner asked me the same question but in 2 different ways. I almost repeated the answers, but changed what I said a bit but clearly they were the same type of ideas. I got a band 7.5 :(

Haha, interesting response from an English teacher. Just curious whether Keith, as an ex-examiner, has come across any native speakers who do not attain Band 9 in their speaking. If so, what were their main problems and which part of their grades were hurt? I guess it would be grammar or vocab?
@EnglishSpeakingSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I have only tested a handful of native speakers and they all got 9, but I noticed they seemed to have prepared in advance - so they were developing answers and give me enough language to judge.

I do speaking like him right now . but people always recommend that we should insert more fancy word. Which is absolutely ridiculous
@EnglishSpeakingSuccess4 жыл бұрын
Don't insert fancy words - use words you are comfortable using.
