Adam, I'm taking the CPE Cambridge at the end of the year and there's a compulsory essay which is a nightmare at times!! M Abubakar Talal haha thanks but believe me writing a good essay for CPE takes a lot of practice and involves different skills. For example, paraphrasing is quite challenging in some cases and adding examples when you don't know a lot about the topic haha.

In this video, when you presented the question, I decided to takle it in thirty minutes, as the test does. Just managed to end the writing with 305 words with no time to spare. Then I proceeded to watch the rest of your video and was glad to find that I come with the same themes and topics as you did. Just with poorer execution and only that amount of words. I keep practicing to improve my essay lenght with time to spare for the test day. Thank you so much for your tips!

Violence is a common issue these days. We can see them in the news, in the streets, but as well in the media, as in televition, internet, video games and movies, easily accesable to our youth and children. How much does this impact in our lives? is the media the main reason? should this stop?. In my view what we see and hear is personal decision and we are able to decide wether if we pick this up or we take a step back In addition, violence can work in some sports, consequenly, we do not need the control of the goverment. First, it is going to restrain our freedom as well as the freedom of the creators of these expression ways. We know that relative to expressions, there is a lot of variety and we are not able to judge and discriminate one type. On the other hand, we are not able to ignore the people who watch and see this material and have a completely different reaction, such as pacificms or completely away of the violence because of the consequences their practicants get. For instance, my cousin, who is father of three little children, loves action movies and video games, but he has always been a pacific citizen and preacher. Furthermore, we everybody have our agency and parents in families are able to decide what they are going to allow their children to watch and see. According to this, parents are able to control instead the laws. Lastly, violence is able to be something good sometimes. We know that many respectful sports are inspired in violence, such as martial arts, rackling and free. These sports are very important worldwide, giving a lot of recognision to nations and the sportists as well. Without of at least a little of violence incentive, these sport will not be the same. There are a lot of children and youth who do not see themselves playing with a ball or swimming in a pool, but these violent sport incetivate them, being, of course, a better option than a sedentary life. For example I met a missionary in my church who practiced rackling and competed in international games. He was once robbed in my country and his reaction was pacific. We conclude that as we have freedom, agency and a little violence sometimes can be good, there is no need in restrinction of the violence in the media.

You're a good teacher in essay writing. The way you dissect the various parts of the essay makes it even more useful for an essay writing but also for understanding a comprehension; by knowing the themes, topic sentences, linking words etc. Those would help one to fish out the author's tone, purpose and main point of the essay. I hope to follow up your tutorials henceforth. What brought my score down the last time I sat for a TOEFL exam was the reading section. I got 22 in writing, which I hope to improve upon,a 23 in speaking and a 22 in listening. I hope to see a spike in my scores when next I'll redo the test. Thank you! Thank you!

Youth violence is a shared social problem. Many people thus propose that governments need to tackle this issue by controlling the media, whom people see as responsible for inciting this violence through films and television. While youth are undoubtedly swayed by external influences, I disagree that it is a government's obligation to censor the entertainment industry; rather, it is up to the society itself to handle the matter. Today's young people may be influenced by many things from films to websites to their peers. It is unreasonable, then, to single out films and sitcoms as a main influencer of violence. In other words, kids may see violence and kindness, greed and generosity and all other human behaviours in pretty equal measures everywhere. They can witness all these things in one news broadcast or viral KZbin clip just as easily as they can in an action flick. Therefore, blaming the entertainment industry is not only unfair, it is also wrong in that it ignores the root causes of certain social behaviours. To suggest that the government can control this is to avoid taking responsibility for ourselves. Indeed, a government's control is not to act as parents to its citizens, but to maintain order and provide the tools for society to thrive; it should not tell people what they can and cannot do. On the other hand, parents can and must oversee what children are exposed to, be it online, in a movie, a book or any other source. Consequently parents must decide whether they want their children to watch a horror film. It is not for governments to ban studios from making it. Furthermore, once we allow the government to engage in censorship in one area, it will be free to act in all spheres of people's lives because negative influences are everywhere and have always been so. Restricting people's access to media will not stop violence; in fact it, it may increase it as citizens begin to fight for their freedoms. In conclusion, social behaviour patterns are impacted by many things, including, but not limited to media products, and society should take care/control of this. Governments should not be allowed to restrict what film or TV companies produce because they will then have to spread their control to all areas of society.

Hello everyone! Would you mind giving me an evaluation on my essay on the topic in the video. With the advancement of technology in both, a convenient and easy to acquire sense of the word, it has become harder to supervise what children and the adolescent age group are watching today. The measures that have been taken to prevent access by underage people to restricted websites and channels are not very successful. Parents as well, more often than not, fail to keep track of the TV and Internet content their children are exposed to. It is next to impossible for parents to hover over their kids constantly, due to the fact that they have other responsibilities to them. For example, preventing them from going hungry or taking care of the house, even getting some rest during the day is of the utmost importance because it is crucial to the health of the parent. However, should the government interfere in the lives of its people or simply put a ban or censorship on certain content and not air these categories at all? I strongly disagree. In my opinion this type of move against the media contradicts the freedom of the people to express itself. It is a precedent that will not have been seen since the time of the authoritarian existing states. Countries that were ran by dictators. Government controlled media can easily be abused to reach political goals and turned to spread propaganda. To sum up, I believe that the most influential a government should be on this issue is to educate parents on how accessible this type of content is to young people these days and what can be done to prevent it from raising them in such a manner that they will not be able to become functioning members of society. In fact, we should do the opposite and educate them to use the media to their advantage and positively develop their mentality and help improve their community.
