These videos really helped me out since covid started. When lockdown happened and online classes started I slowly felt I was forgetting how to write an essay because of the lack of physical classes. I'm practicing how to write essays for my GED exam and I've seen so many videos of how to start writing an essay but none of the tutorials can be compared to this one. It's much better to write the essay's body paragraphs before the introduction. Intro and conclusion should be written last. Otherwise, a common mistake of students is that the introduction and body paragraphs don't match. I teach ESL students at a university in CA.

It's best to finalize your introduction and conclusion after writing the body of your essay. But beginning an essay without an understanding of what you want to prove, without a beginning, is dangerous and can lead to confusion. It's important to devote time and language to an introduction - even if that introduction changes - before writing the body as it provides direction, focus, and a sense of purpose for both the writer and reader.
