I remember from my childhood hearing a Hadith where the Holy Prophet told the Sahaba that in the distant future there will come Muslims who will be greater in Allah’s esteem than the Sahaba themselves. When the Sahaba asked how could that be so, he replied that “They would not have met me, and yet their iman will be as strong as yours!” A revert is not only like a sinless innocent newborn, he/she is worthy of our greatest respect and love! The story of the brother reminds me of the day and the days after I told my mother that I will convert to Islam because Islam is the truth. I came from a catholic family that goes to church and practice more or less their religion. It took me a lot of effort to overcome myself and tell my mother about it. Recentely, I decided to wear the hijab. Inshallah i will soon be ready to tell my mother about it, because i live in another city and she hasn‘t seen me since i choose to wear the hijab. I put my trust in Allah. Elhamdulillah that Allah has guided me and so many other brothers and sisters to Islam. ❤️

I became Muslim when I was 21. People ask me how my family reacted. I explain that we have freedom in our country and if I told my family that I'm Muslim OR I'm gay, they don't care, I'm free. BUT after 9/11 if I were gay, they would have been happier! 30 years on, my mother passed without Islam. That was her choice. May Allaah guide your families.

So you want people of other religions to accept if their kids convert to your religion yet most muslim parents would react just as his mother reacted (actually much worse) if they found out their muslim child changed or left the religion they were born in.

Brother, any mother or parents would be devastated knowing what their children has done against their believes and regulations. But with proper guidance and knowledge, the child can educate. Loving a child unconditionally is not quite favorable. There must be conditional love so that there would be a balance. With understanding comes, what they say? True love?
