My revert advice from a revert and one thing I wish I did from the beginning is become accustom to the masjid. Become familiar with the masjid, frequent it often, make more salaat there, spend more time there. It's hard for reverts because sometimes you may feel really alone there but no worries... keep striving and develop a love for the masjid. Number 2. Arabic is not the language of Arabs, it's the language of the Muslims! Do your best to learn the language... it will take you on an amazing soul fulfilling journey and clarity when reciting Quran and understanding what you say when you pray and so important and besides... nothing beats the Arabic language. May Allah make us strong believers and if any of you guys want someone to talk to.. please feel free we can share contact information. As salaamu Alaikum brothers.

i was born muslim too but was only enlightened when I reach 28 yrs of age. i envy those people who experienced ramadan and arabic classes from childhood. Alhamdullilah , i felt the guidance and Allah did not give up on me. I was able to learn things on my own and feel the same with reverts. Every Shahada makes me emotional as if it was me who found God at last , and the excitement for learning more ( since my siblings are still yet to embrace that we are born muslims. )witnessing Shahadas even online is now part of my happiness hehe

As a revert I must admit it is I who envy you brother. The pain of losing close knit bonds that reverts can feel is a mighty test from Allah. Thinking of my family members who passed away without getting the chance to hear the truth breaks my heart. I weep for them and pray for them. It hurts but knowing I have brothers and sisters across the world serves as a reminder that I am Never alone. Allahu Akbar.

This is exactly what I did. The moment Islam started to become manifest in my heart almost within 6 months most of my bad habits were history. Weed, booze, Cigs, porn etc. 8yrs later still going strong alhamdulilah. Loving hearing the stories. My journey to Islam and my shahada I will never forget, they were truly special times in my life.. the walk though is not easy, you will be tested by what the world holds but when Imaan is in the heart you are (by the will of Allah) unbreakable. I live in a country where the majority of people either identify as Christians or non-religious. But if you actually talk to them, most of them hold Muslim beliefs. Islam is like the natural religion of man, or like the default religion of creation. Many of those who identify as Christian believe that there is one God, and Jesus is a son of God (and they don't know what exactly that means), but they don't see Jesus as God himself. And those that identify as non-religious, do believe that there is some ultimate being that is above all, but they haven't given it much thought. It's almost like the fitrah (natural disposition to believe in Allah) exists in every human being, and it just needs to be reconnected with. Of the 6 billion non-Muslims on this world, I'd say if all them understood Islam, a majority would submit to the truth instantly and accept Islam.
