Here in Canada (and maybe the US) there was this ad showing the "house hippo". A hippo the size of a small mouse being filmed for a nature documentary. After showing them for a good minute the correct background fades in and shows they're full sized Hippos in the wild. And a different narrator comes on saying "That looked really real didn't it? But you knew it couldn't be true right? That's why you should think about what you watch. A message from Concerned Children's Advertisers." Hands down the best public service message I've ever seen.

His sister put her bare foot into a fox den by accident while walking through a field and a kit bit her toe, so when she pulled her foot out, there was just a baby fox attached to her toe. so they just took it home and kept it as a pet, my dad legit trained it to walk without a leash and stuff too.

Slight amount of research later: It isn't so much about eating fish, it is more about eating aquatic species. So South America - Capybara, Africa - Hippo, US - Beaver and apparently Muskrat. I would guess anything that primarily spends time in water is fair game.

Well, you are right in that pie birds are a thing, and that they were often blackbirds and some would whistle due to steam from the pie cooking. But the rhyme is much older than pie birds, and is probably literal, though not as cruel as it sounds. There was a weird trend in 1500s Europe to hide live birds around a dinner table at big events, including placing a number of them under a baked pie crust, so that when for example the "pie" was cut the revealed birds would fly out as a surprise.

iirc some bees were legally declared fish in order to put them under environmental protections, but i forget where. some US state i think ? and in terms of evolution, it's hard to define a fish (even though we have some very clear examples of what is definitely a fish) due to the way common ancestry works - essentially to include all fish that are definitely fish, we would be including a bunch of definitely not fish, including a bunch of insects and mammals i think ?
