Trackmania has checkpoints that you miss if you use a shortcut.

@@sergeymelnikov5679 Not really. Shortcuts usually take adventage of Checkpoints not being placed at certain spots to work. Shortcuts are definetly viable on a lot of tracks. I believe that Nadeo is doing a great job looking out for and preventing shortcuts on the newer campaign maps, but that hasn't stopped players one bit from using shortcuts in the game. Using tricks and shortcuts in the name of achieving the fastest time possible is indeed the spirit of Trackmania and the fact that that is allowed and seen as the correct way to play the game even as a casual player is what makes Trackmania special in the first place. The bugs, tricks and shortcuts are not reserved for the top players or speedrunners, but anyone who enjoys playing and Nadeo has left several fun bugs unpatched on purpose for that excact reason.
