Love her or jump on the hate train but the one thing about her is her artistry is incomparable. She is brave enough not to get stuck in one genre or one style just because it has worked for her in the past, just because that’s what the fans like. I love that she goes outside the boundaries ppl have set in their minds for her. Beyonce has nothing to prove to any one and that’s why she continues to evolve. Ppl having an intense dislike or hatred for a woman they don’t even know or know anything about personally is always weird to me. Appreciate her as an artist or don’t but don’t try to discredit all the hard work and excellence that she puts into every project she puts out.

Idk how to say this... but when it comes to black people doing country, I love when the artist has soul and doesn't just sound like a stereotypical country person, you know... the "yee-haw, darn tootin" type. That's why I gravitate towards singers like Yola and Brittney Spencer. They have an authentic voice. My thing with K. Michelle is she uses autotune and I can't stand autotune in country music. I wasn't the biggest Beyonce fan, until Beychella. That woman's work ethic, stage presence and performance skills cannot be denied. She is one of the greatest living performers, the hate that she receives is ridiculous and they keep moving the goal post with finding reasons not to like her. There's nothing overrated about her, the same can't be said about her peers though, many who can't even sing, dance, have zero artistry, and don't get involved in politics either. Go look up the work her charity BeGood has done and then reflect on what you're doing with your life and channel that energy to do something positive. This is discriminatory pure and simple. Beyoncé deserves album of the year ten times over and the Grammys know it. Someone said that the world loves humbling black women and unfortunately this is across all industries from the music to the corporate world. Hence the need to set our own metrics and standards because it’s unjust to live in a world as a person of colour when the standard is set by people who view you as inferior no matter what you do. Honestly Beyonce music is too complex and rich for the Gramms to understand 😂 Adele and Taylor songs are very generic and déjà vu so easier to get for most people. We do not know the reason, or rather cannot prove the reason, she never won this particular title and cannot demand it. To demand it and openly criticize something that is a gift is tacky, particularly when so many other gifts were given. People are allowed to have different opinions on which album receives that title, but the fact that she won so many other awards shows that she is respected and acknowledged. A lot of these awards are given based on the taste of the board/academy. I’m just glad she’s expanding her offerings.

All those awards are bought and paid for. They don't really mean anything honestly but I understand the public perception attached to them.

Yes I was wondering why none of the commentary channels talked about the fact that it's a open secret that AOTY is bid & paid for. Woukd they be demonetized for bringing it upmarket???? Maybe Bey did not pay enough or doesn't want to pay?

She has mentioned being country, liking country music and going to rodeos for the past twenty years. The truth is that the country music industry is racist and many Black artists have shown interest in the genre but have been pushed aside. T pain mentioned writing for country artists but taking his name off the song so that he doesn’t have to deal with the racist fall out. She’s just the right person in just the right position to challenge this nonsense and she doesn’t have to say a word. She’s a southern woman who is a world music icon. She has as much right as anyone to enter the genre.

The fact that taylor swift has more album of the year awards than legendary artists is enough for me to say f the grammys. like bye

I think Rock n' Roll is going to be next. I do think that the announcement stole Usher's shine somewhat, but I understand why she did it.

Many other Black Artists such as Diana Ross, Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, SWV, Anita Baker, Brandy, Toni Braxton, EnVogue, and countless other black women have not received one Grammy or many and deserve to be included in this Jay Z topic. Also, entitlement is a hefty price to pay..... great albums, but the Grammys have always gotten wrong. Lauryn Hill's last win for AOTY- was so deserving- unapologetically black and against the grain- instrumentation, soulful sound infused with pop, gospel, and rock. We need to do the research and see.

We as people need to educate ourselves that Beyonce comes from artist development that no longer is being used in the industry. Tina Turner, Dian Ross, The Supremes, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey is where she studied the greats and got her artistry- They all have dabbed into Rock, featured rap artists, Gospel, Dance, House, Jazz and Country. Beyonce is going for the AOTY category at the Grammy- let us not be out of the loop. Beyonce wants to touch every genre to get the RESPECT. While the topic of the country- lets us remember that Black artists are in every genre and black women have been breaking barries (Mickey Guyton, in the country industry. Beyonce has no competition but herself- she is pushing herself whether it's ego or going against the grain of being Black, A woman, and an artist who doesn't get the RESPECT from men in the industry.

I'll admit the system is rigged. Beyonce is talented. However, I feel like she is seeking validation through accolades and countless persona changes at this point. I get she is an artist, but sheesh, it must be tiring and confusing for her to keep switching up. Ask yourself this: If she were to get an album of the year at least once, would she take a hiatus? Also, Jay Z's speech was cringeworthy and performative because even with the money, the fame, the awards, and the huge following, it was still not enough. also, would like to say Taylor is mid, I love her music but she's visually in her own lane.

If it makes you feel better (as a member of the beyhive) something tells me she will bow out after her Trilogy is over with, wheather she gets her AOTY or not. That way y'all can stop complaining, its annoying.
@Porcelynnn9 ай бұрын
Taylor is in her own lane- yes!! The comparison is unnecessary. Taylor has 10 albums while Bey has 7. So, Taylor had 3 more “chances” to win AOTY… 😅 But if Grammys are Scammys, why are people still screaming and fighting for Bey to win AOTY? Even Jay said some artists didn’t deserve to be nominated lol, like is a Grammy valid or not… idk. People confusing me

@@gissellept I hope you're right about her bowing out. She's annoying and I've been tired of her numerous rebrands. She doesn't deserve album of the year, Idk why she keeps trying, lol.

@@WeShareTheSameAfflictionummmm most Artist rebrands, Prince, Madonna,and MJ. The best artist only have different eras and try different genres. Beyoncé isn’t doing anything different than the ppl who started the game.
