Do your dishes no matter what, it keeps your kitchen functioning so you can eat. If you have things that do not fit easily in the cupboards when everything is clean, get rid of stuff. I guarantee you have too many mugs and food storage containers. If sick or depressed, you can delay other chores a day or two if necessary but make yourself stay on top of the kitchen, which only takes minutes unless you let all the dishes and counters get dried on food at once, which is then 10 times as long and overwhelming. You will also be more likely to make healthy food if there is space and a clean sink to work in. Even if no one helps you and it is not fair, do the dishes for your own sanity.

I love this! I'm currently using the Flylady method, but with alot of modifications. And while getting dressed during my morning routine really gets me on tge right mindset, as well as the Swish and Swipe in the bathrooms, I finally gave myself permission to do those things vs my morning quiet time on reverse order. Tgere are so many ither things that I absolutely must do in the mornings before I sit down gor my quiet time, that are not a part of Flylady's list, that by the time I would get dressed and do my Swish and Swipe AND do all the other things that are non-negotiable. 1 2/2- 2 hours have gone by before zi've had my vitamins, tea and my quiet time (which includes stretching. Prayer, planning. And timed goof off t8me like right mow). An, by the time I do sit down, I'm getting interrupted constantly by tge animals and by the hubby and alm the things thst need to be one that day. Thst leads yo a very cranky and irritable homemaker. I want to be a happy homemaker. So, getting the absolute non-negotianles out of yhe way and then having my quiet time, THEN getting dressed, are way more important than the swish and swipe. Starting laundry and putting away the dishes. Those last 3 things can be done after everything else.

I'm still finding mysrlf getting dressed first and doing all the things lol. It just happens. Nit, I'm saying my Swish and Swipe for the evening routine, starting with the 2 public bathrooms while I do the evening ckean-up, and ending with the master bathroom after zi get ready for bed. We take showers payer in tge day or before bed anyway, so it makes more sense to me. I live waking up knowing my bathrooms are already company ready. My mornings still take 2 1/2- 3 hrs, but I have a clearer head. Also, after zi get ready gor bed and swish and swipe the master bathroom, that's when I gp back out to the kitchen, plan out my dsy tge next day, and then shut everything down. It does make the morning business less frustrating to have things planned out already. Alk I have to do is glance at my planner and write ir out on my white board. So, I don't have planning things out dancing around in my head while I'm also trying to taje care of all the morning things. I may just have to resign to tgd fact, that my fantasy morning routine (the one that I used to be able to do) and my reality morning routine (required by life circumstances) are not the same mow lol. So, my quiet time seems to consistantly happen in the early afternoon. Hopefully, I'll either continue to igure out ways to mske my morning routine easier and quicker gor me, or start to actually embrace my current routine. We shall see lol.

Just found your channel… I have fallen off of my household routines since our oldest daughter moved out behind our backs while the rest of the family was at church. She up and removed herself from the rest of our lives. Everything in our home reminds me of her and makes it even harder to get back to my routines. Sometimes I find myself just weeping as as I go through my household tasks.

My best friend's adopted daughter with special needs and health conditions also did this very thing when she turned 18 with the help of my friend's sister and niece. They foster-adopted her when she was 3 and even homeschooled her for years! My friend should get a doctorate for all the high school classes she did! Her daughter was gone for over a year, but contact had eventually been established. It was devastating and agonizing beyond words not to mention the feeling of being betrayed, so your grieving is understandable. I don't know if you know about the prodigal son, but there are also prodigal daughters and God knows your mother's heart and He knows how to make a pigpen for them. My friend's daughter did come back home when she realized that she had it really good at home and not so much where she was living with her paranoid cousin. She also grew up some, too, but A LOT of prayers with tears went up to Heaven on her behalf. One thing my friend and her husband did during this time was to concentrate on what made them happy as a couple.

This video is for me! The three rules tip was the grace I needed to feel like I am not a failure for not completing my tasks as much as I wanted to. I'm using Clean Mama's planner for the first time. I honestly struggle to fill keep up with filling it in. I DON'T keep up with filling it in. I have done very well overall with the five daily tasks, and I would like to gradually add the the weeklies. Thanks for the timely message! Best wishes!
