I’m a huge Raider fan 25 plus years. I’ll tell you right now, you have no idea what you’re getting in Carr. The dudes a baller straight up! He had a top 10 offense in his 3rd year with Gruden and took them to the playoffs the following year with a banged up team with no Head coach and no #1 receiver. Don’t let McDaniels fool you, they scape goated Carr on purpose and I’m glad they did. Ow he’s with a stable organization. I’ll be rooting for the Saints this season

Raider Fan here - just remember that he only had his weapons on the field for 48 snaps all year long. The rest of the time he was forced to take chances to push the ball down the field because the defense gave up 20+ points. You guys got a steal. #thatsmyQB

IMO, its all about Pete Charmichael and DA. I hope they know how to use him to the advantage of the offense. Carr does not suck. I hope the coaching staff gets the best out of him is all I'm gonna say.

If Pete's system is like Grudens, and from what I hear it is. He should have a great year for you guys. He was getting better and more aggressive every year in that system. He ended up with 4,800 passing yards last year. All while struggling to really get a passing grove after loosing Ruggs. Olave and Johnson will eat with Carr, and MT if he does indeed stay healthy.

Bro this was a great film break down. Derek Carr is pretty Accurate, and can make thos intermediate throws across the middle. I feel like that was Jameis biggest flaw. Now we have a guy who can make the middle and deep throws. That being said, he needs to be complimentary piece and let the athletes make the plays.

We really need Penning to stay healthy and take a step up. It sucks last year should have been his so-called transition/practice year but he missed the whole season and got hurt again. Hopefully we Draft or sign another guard or tackle or both to protect him so he can make those plays.

I highly urge you Saints fans to watch the Oakland games with Greg Papa calling them to get you hyped up! There was nothing more music to my ears than "Carr in the gun, drops back, launches it... TOUCHDOWWWNNNN RAAAAIDERS!" He is an accurate QB who always give receivers a chance to turn and run or brace for a hit. One of the most accurate deep ball QBs now. He does things that make you scratch your head but rarely does he make a blatant bad decision. You guys got a good QB and a great leader, he will be missed and I hope the Saints kick ass this year.

Been a raiders fan for 30yrs, with that said, I'm glad DC is gone. Hasn't been good since 2016. Wish him well, but I'm excited to finally get a new franchise QB. Carr is a turnover machine, and his low TD count dsnt offset the amount of turnovers he gets. He's always had an elite OL outside of grudens first year. No excuses for so many turnovers.

Have to say this wasnt even his best game, he elevates his game against the chiefs only for his team to make bonehead Plays, watch his 2nd game against the chiefs in 2020, thats was the highest single game grade that season for any qb and they ended up losing because the defense allowed the chiefs to score a 80yd drive in less than a minute

He’s got a stronger arm than he gets credit. That route where he fits it downfield around 25 yards, fr9m the overhead shot, he threw it so quickly I could’ve sworn it was to the Rb 5 yards deep. I was wow, he slung that ball. The next play the deep out looked effortless too. Lastly, when is the last time we’ve seen a SAINTS Qb running a bootleg on purpose? And not flushed. DB, I believe.

He has one of the best Arms in the league, the raiders just didnt sorround him with talent most seasons. Imagine having to carry the worst defense in history (worse than the 2008 detroit lions in points per drive allowed) having agholor as your wr1 and an unpolished rookie ruggs as wr2 with one of the worst o lines and the running game averaging like 3ypc. He won 8 games that year and set a record of wins (8) when the defense allows more than 30ppg, the previos récord was 5 wins, thats mvp kind of stuff and he doesnt get recognized enough

@Moshe Goldberg I’ve been watching a lot of Carr Raider vids lately, and I can tell you I’m not a fan of their offensive coordination. Drew Bree’s wouldn’t have lasted a season under it. Every pass play is slow developing and he has to buy time with side steps and stepping up, bootlegs etc. how about pass plays that the ball is out in less than 2.5 seconds. Immediate passes to the Rb. Quick 4-5 yard slants where the Wr stops and curls in between zones . (Button hook). Get the defense used to not even trying to rush because 80% are these quick hitting plays. Then run screens and long developing deep shot plays.

If your evaluating Carr for a insight onto how he will do with the Saints, probably best to check out 2021, or 2020 honestly. Those years they were running a West Coast system, and you'll be able to see some classic Carr 4th quarter magic.

I'm a Raiders fan I want to see Car with a competent team. With a team with a D and OL. A lot of Carr's problems was pressure, the Raiders didn't have an OL. Watch the years before last year Carr wasn't able to audible due to their dumbass coach. He's different when he can do so. With the exception from last year he never really had good to great WRS....in 2016 he had Crabtree and Copper and he played well until his leg was busted. He hasn't been the same qb for that fact, good or band, but Gruden (like him or not) made him a better qb.

They have to play DC4 the way he's wired to approach and play the game. Otherwise no need in his services they have built damn good offenses around him but then fire the coach all logic is lost at that point. Hiring JMD was a real head scratcher for sure...

Unreal this offseason. I didn't think Carr would be a Saints, Jamal is a real unexpected delightful signing. Now if the OL and MT stays healthy it should be real good offensive year. Didn't think injuries would be just as bad last year. My optimism has dramatically increased.

Watch 2016 and 2021 season to see Derek Carrs most complete teams. Both years went to playoffs. Also his best seasons. 2016 a bad play injured him, he was completing for the MVP. Carr ran a 4.68 40 yard dash.

I even remember a 4th and inches in which he called a toss 4yds behind the line of scrimmage. If you want to analyze what Carr will do for you, look at 2020 and 2021. That is the offense that closely resembles what the Saints will be doing with him; reading defenses, changing up plays, some no huddle. Last year was JDM Patriot way offense. Carr made the best of what he could but never had the freedom he had before. JDM’s system did not play to Carr’s strengths.

Very insightful breakdown of this game! I did notice at times the the Titan's DL were not rushing up the middle of the Raiders OL, giving Carr a clean look at the receivers. I know the Saints OL had problems handling defense's that put pressure on Dalton from the tackles. I imagine some of that was because our starting offensive linemen were injured. Hopefully they can rectify this situation. Beside Penning, the Saints need to take a look at getting some more help for the OLine! I felt the Saints could have picked up one, or both of the outstanding OL from Minnesota....they were both outstanding linemen...and big guys...6'6" & 6'7"....320-340 lbs. They might have been a little rough around the edges, but what rookie isn't! Our O Line is getting a little old in places and they really need to address it, so we can keep Carr healthy!

show his game against the saints when he got the ball over the 50 for the 1st time in the 4th quarter. that was a doozy. or the playoff game vs bengals where he forced a ball to a guy double covered on the 2 yd line and got tackled immediately btw it was 4th and goal and they needed a touchdown to win and there was no pressure from D. carr is gonna drive saint fans nuts. i kept talking myself into liking him every year beacause im a Raider fan and he was our QB but hes a coward in the pocket and makes horrible decisions at the worst possible times
