I'm on the West Coast in Canada and there are lots of small shops with regular people selling in a friendly environment - neither loser-hippie/nor loser-corporate. Kind of like liquor stores except you can take your kids into those and you can't into these. And the windows on liquor stores aren't black. And you can buy as much as you want in a liquor store but you're limited at a weed store. But you know, besides all those things that still stigmatize it, it's a totally chill experience. ;P

Glad they covered the evolution of these places, going from embarrassing 'weed culture' shops to these weirdly sterile corporate environments. Only thing I would add is how some of the bigger companies like Curaleaf are running massive cultivation factories, which would be fine except some are too close to residential areas and are choking out entire neighborhoods with the fumes. EDIT: Pretend that instead of "fumes" I said "offensive odors", since some people can't cope with words that have multiple similar definitions. And no, I like the smell of weed. This isn't about me. This is about Curaleaf committing unforced errors and making pot look bad.

Vapes are great, all studies indicate that vaping is harmless, has a greater success rate for smoking cessation than gum or patches 40% vs 8 %. Also a British study found no difference in lung tissue regrown after quitting smoking for long time smokers in patients who vaped and those who used used other alternatives . Plus nicotine is not the culprit for lung cancer and has many indications to prevent alzheimers.

As far as anxiety, how can propylene glycol ( used as transport agent in asthma inhalers, in food items,etc. for 80 years) and glycerin ( used in foods and smoke making machines for 60 years) could cause depression or anxiety? And nicotine actually reduces anxiety. The only study that shows any adverse effects was done on a device that is SIMILAR to but not a vaping device and at temperatures so high that vaping even close to the same temperatures causes a awful flavor and all they found were formaldehyde as a negative byproduct and only at these extreme temperatures. The only death world wide would be 5 teenagers who thought they could buy thc vaping liquid from china and from a sketchy source who used non food grade, non edible , toxic oil flavoring and they developed popcorn lung.

before the pandemic i worked at a cannabis store, and while i cant speak for all stores, the company i worked for actually cared about its customers and employees. We were down the road from one the bigger hospitals in the area, and i cant count the amount of times doctors sent cancer patients down to us instead of pumping them full of narcotics and calling it a day. I have personally spent 4 and half hours with one customer who was just diagnosed and were sent to us.

I don’t smoke anymore because it did increase my anxiety as someone with a panic disorder among other mental illnesses. I always figured the fancy names and stuff were BS. One of the main reasons I quit smoking was because the obscenely powerful budtender strains intensity scared me away. I honestly preferred the ditch weed I would get back in the early 2000’s under the table. Unfortunately at this point, I’m so traumatized by medical grade weed that even smelling pot in general gives me panic attacks. No I will NOT try another strain. My psycho is ALREADY too active naturally, thank you very much.

My problem with weed is that people try to market it as a safe drug when there is no drug that is completely safe to ingest. For weed you do have different delivery methods, I think we can both agree that smoking is the worst method for your health. Marijuana also has side effects that can affect a person in the long term, and just how consuming alcohol is bad for adolescents development, so is Marijuana. My problem is that when people tote it as a safe drug it entices kids to try it, and although it is still less addictive than other substances, you don't need to be an addict to constantly use it. Just look at vaping, it was said to be a safe alternative to smoking and a bunch of kids started to try it, and even without nicotine pods they continued to use it because they though it made them look cool. Vaping turned out to be just as bad for your lungs as smoking was and people started doing it because they were mislead into thinking it was safe. For the long term affects of Marijuana, you have Adolescent brain development issues, Psychiatric disorders, Addiction, Increased risk of other substance use disorders, Respiratory difficulties, and unknown side effects as more study is needed in order to see the long term effects. Your statement "funny thing is weed is safer and less intoxicating than alcohol." Isn't wrong but it still doesn't make weed usage any better. If I say "vaping is safer and less intoxicating than cigarettes'" I'm not wrong but that also doesn't mean that vaping isn't bad for your health. Then your next statement "the propaganda on THC must end." is also not completely right. There are people who spread misinformation about THC but that doesn't mean that all negative information about it is propaganda. Most information is scientifically backed and the same results can be found in multiple peer reviewed studies, I have put a few articles below from trustworthy sources. If you like to debate you can. A little advice for newbies from somone who's consumed for over a decade. Do some research first and look into terpenes and their effects and make your selection based on the terpenes and effects you want. Don't just pick what sounds the best. Also start small, one or two puffs, wait a bit, if you need more, then one or two more puffs and repeat, Don't consume too much at once and get turned off of it

Most of weed strains are mixed too much. but there are still strains that give you a definite indica or sativa high, i personally enjoy the high cbd and medium thc strains as they are more like those good old skunks from the 90's. modern weed is like drinking straight vodka but old strains are like drinking a nice coctail.
