The beautiful irony of this cover is within sir glockys "I Said that it was not me" as it's a complete tonal tribute to disturbed s iconic "aowww-AH-AH-AH-AH!" i mean, the themes of the original song also fit well into a metal song. "It Wasn't Me" is a song about succumbing to temptation, hurting somebody you love, and learning to resist the impulse inside yourself that seeks to dodge blame and avoid admitting that you were in the wrong. In the first verse, Rik Rok is asking Shaggy how he can get away with lying to and cheating on his girl after she caught him "red-handed", but by the end of the song he's disgusted by his own actions and the advice he was given and resolves to do the right thing: "Gonna tell her that I'm sorry for the pain that I've caused \ I've been listening to your reasons, they make no sense at all \ Gonna tell her that I'm sorry for the pain that I've caused \ You may think that you're a player but you're completely lost." TL;DR: I don't think the original idea was a bad one on its face.
