The red bell is spot on with the genuine LP version I have with me right now. As you were playing yours, I was tapping on mine just to see. Your blue one is higher pitch, but if it was open just a hair more, it might have been spot on too.

Man I'm really into these vids because I was doing similar and ran across these and it helped me with that much more ideas. But I keep searching for the video where u do something with an old Pearl bass drum and you note how messed up the lugs had been drilled. Dude I redrilled 10 lugs onto a 1982 Pearl Export shell and man the lugs on that drum were drilled do jacked up straight from the factory that ...honestly I couldn't believe it. I mean Pearl was my drum of choice and just, from such a reputable company and unless you're doing this kind of work you'll never know. Now this was a 1982 Pearl bass drum. Things might be better today but it's clear to me that this wasn't an isolated incident. And keep coming up with ideas man . I love it dude.

I really know that the best way to make the cowbell's mount is with a square tube. You drill the necessary holes and then cut the face you don't need. And all you have to do is to weld the mount to the cowbell. Instead of making a mount out of a piece of metal. But it's just my opinion lol

wonder if it helps to heat the open end of bigger one up to cherry red then dunk it in motoroil or water , think the uneven tensions in the metal is wat gives a cowbel its ring when you look at an unpainted cowbell you see that the open end is bleu from being heated up
