I love the characterization of Omori here. The tears at the end make it seem like he was resigned to his and Sunny's fate, and resigned to the fact that in his mind, the only way to do his job and protect / save Sunny was to keep the truth hidden from him or end his suffering by killing him. When Sunny plays the violin and hugs Omori, the tears make it seem like he's impressed / relieved that Sunny actually has the strength and resolve to not succumb (haha get it), move on, and keep living life. Like he'd given up on Sunny and was convinced that ending it was the only way, only to realize that there was still hope and he wouldn't have to continue his "job" as Sunny's protector / potential murderer.

This feels like a genuine final battle, I absolutely love how Omori just stands there, berating Sunny and telling him he doesn't deserve to live, showing him how he's hurt his friends until finally Sunny lashes out. It's only then that Omori attacks, as if offended that Sunny dare try to hurt him, once again completely overwhelming Sunny. But god the scenes of Sunny cherishing his friend's words, and Mari actively helping him through, it's so powerful. Love how with just one stroke of the violin Sunny wipes away the corruption and depression, and forgives himself.

In a way it's like that in the game as well. When first confronting Omori, he uses his normal Headspace attacks (Generic attack, Stab and Hack Away). Its only after Sunny "wins" that Omori begins using the erase moves. Sunny fighting Omori and having the drive to win was the turning point, now it became erase or be erased.
