I don’t know why we’re beating a dead horse. It comes down to risk versus reward and he has more to lose by showing up to MXON than he does to gain. A regional SX title holds significantly more weight than MXON. He’s 18 and the kid is managing his racing career. Titles hold more value than money in my opinion, but that’s just my opinion. With that being said, he’s prioritizing BOTH and in a sport where the riders are severely underpaid you can’t blame him. Why risk injury at a race that provides nothing more than bragging rights? He’s focused on winning as much as he can in the 250 class therefore making as much money as he can in the 250 class.

Hayden getting his wrist fixed is important and he needs to look at longevity but if that was the real reason, why did they say they wanted to see who was going? @daneg4 ай бұрын
Phil is right. it's not even a contest. I think maybe you're having trouble with perspective. Phil's a professional racer. as a professional, the races you care about are the ones you're paid and train for. 250 east riders don't get paid to win the support class in mxon. he is paid and trains to win that 250 east championship, and that is absolutely more important to him than riding the mxon. winning the 250 east gets you access to rides and deals that mxon does not. furthermore, to be taken for the mxon, you kinda need to have already proven yourself in the other series anyway. I'm not sure how or why it's necessary to explain this further? it's cool that YOU value the "olympics" more than the NBA, but I'm going to be NBA/NHL/NFL/etc. before Olympics every day.

@@alexmx7775 i think the point is more along the lines that SMX uses SX setups, and Sexton has been chasing a compatible SX setting on his KTM all year. Whereas he found a great place for the KTM on an MX track. so comparing Eli to Sexton on SMX is apples to oranges with regard to how well they would fare on an MX track. I would also add that my greatest reservation for both Eli and Webb is that they fade noticeably outdoors. Eli was fading in 20-minute SMX races. He was clearly slower vis-a-vis the other frontrunners in the 2nd motos of each SMX round, and MXoN is 30-minutes, iirc. So that doesn't bode well for him or Coop (who also doesn't have a lot of time in 30-minute motos recently).
