All that is required of us is to trust in the Lord Jesus death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins is the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that our salvation is the gift of God, and that we are saved by grace through our faith, and not by the things we do or do not do!

@ThisSweetLife♡ John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Jesus is asking this woman do you belive in me? He says you will never die if you belive in me. In other words, saved forever. He doesn't ask her to stop sinning, he doesn't ask her to be a good person, to go to church, all he wants is faith in Him. The moment you believe Jesus paid for all the past sins you did the present sins you are doing and any future sins you may do. He Paid it all on the cross 2000 years. After belief there is nothing to fear.

Pray, pray, pray. God will answer your prayers. Recently, after much prayer to become more Christlike - having a long way to go - he removed my desire and instinct to swear wantonly whenever I was frustrated and angry - as I sometimes still get. I hardly ever swear now and I am also more patient than I was before too, which helps. In the past six months I have let slip about six times, and when I do I always feel accutely aware of it afterwards (Godly sorrow). When your pray for regeneration, God always answers that prayer. God knows who his children are. You will always become aware of when he rebukes you too. You feel convicted.

You cannot just pray your sinful habits away, ask God to give you the strength to resist the temptation to sin but do not pray and ask God to take the temptations to commit these sins away from you because God will not do it as doing so would not help you grow as a Christian. God is not going to remove the capacity to commit evil from people, we make the choice to do good or to do evil if we, as born again Christians, ask God will give us the strength and the wisdom to overcome the flesh but God will not just remove our capacity to commit sin.

Very true. Many denominations are inadvertently teaching reformation of the flesh, but the flesh cannot be reformed. The flesh is not "sinning less". Sin is its master. We are already sinless in the inner man, we just need to practice live in the inner man more and more. There is no sinning less. The inner man is already sinless. The old man just gets in the way

Church is not supposed to be a big feel good session where the topic of hell and the need for salvation is never brought up for fear of scaring those in attendance. People need to be afraid as hell is a very real and very terrible place that you need to be absolutely sure that you are not going to when you leave this world, you cannot have a message about salvation without also preaching about what you need saving from.

Also, God tells us we can know that we have it by simply believing that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. 1 John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

You can't lose the Holy Spirit once you have it because we are seal by the Holy Spirit the moment we believe. Ephesians 1:13 - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, However, when you sin you can break you're fellowship with God. To restore that fellowship you must confess your sins (confess means to agree with God about your sin). 1 John 1 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Sister, there’s no sin that God cannot forgive if you believe upon Him and ask Him for forgiveness. He knows we are weak. He will give you the strength to overcome but the fact that you’re worried about him not wanting you shows you DO care and you wouldn’t care if the Holy Spirit wasn’t living inside you drawing you back to him. In 1 John 5:13 it says that you can know you have eternal life. Two things to point out. It says that you can know. Secondly, something that is eternal (aka everlasting) can never be lost. This is why you can know you have it. It's a one time transaction. If you could lose it then it couldn't be called eternal life. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

I love your teaching, thank you. Regarding Galatians 5:16, will you please explain Galatians 5:19 -21? Paul is speaking to Believers. Verse 21 says, shall not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
@jjsmoley Жыл бұрын
In verse 19 it says "the works of the flesh". Those sins listed in that passage (and all sin) comes from our fleshly old nature. Sin prevents us from entering / inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven. However, once we've trusted Jesus Christ as our savior we gain the new nature which cannot sin and we can now enter heaven. So then those of us who are believers have both natures while we are still on earth. But once we physically die only the new nature goes to heaven. The old natures stay's behind and does not inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven. Also, Pastor Dave recently started a new series on Galatians (play list linked below). Eventually he will cover this passage so keep checking back each week. kzbin.info/aero/PL2B4ebzvFXJDFdxhjFv3Kk9vpzc83qrxe

Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 1 John 3:6-12 NIV 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

The following verse tells us that we can know we have eternal life. 1 John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Notice that the only requirement to knowing is to believe on the name of the Son of God. Jesus' name means God saves. Instead of trying to do things on your own to make it to Heaven you simply accept the payment Jesus made on the cross as your payment. This next verse also tells us that the moment we believe we HAVE (hath in the KJV text) everlasting life, meaning we posses it right now. If something is everlasting it means it never stops and so then you can never lose it no matter what happens. John 6:47 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Also notice the black and white contrast of believe vs not believing mentioned in John 3:18 and John 3:36. John 3:18 - He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The vast majority of Calvinists/Lordship Salvationists come to their errant conclusion that if a saved Christian still sins or practices sin then that person is "unsaved" based upon a twisted eisegesis of Luke 8:6-7/Luke 8:13-14, Luke 8:8/Luke 8:15, 2 Corinthians 13:5, 1 Corinthians 9:27, James 2:14-26, 1 John 2:3-6, 1 John 2:9-11, 1 John 3:4-10, 1 John 4:20, 1 John 5:18, etc. In the mind of a Lordship Salvation person, the only saved person is the one that is described in Luke 8:8/Luke 8:15. However, a careful reading of Luke 8:6-7/Luke 8:13-14 reveals that these people are also SAVED, but in a state of stunted growth, spiritual atrophy/stagnancy, due to hindrances and obstacles in their lives preventing them from moving forward in their walk with God. It would be ideal if all saved Christians are in the Luke 8:8/Luke 8:15 category, but the reality is, there are way more SAVED Christians who fall in the Luke 8:6-7/Luke 8:13-14 category. It seems that most, if not all Lordship Salvationists fail to read Romans 7:14-25, and the reality of Galatians 5:13.

Calvinism/Lordship Salvation and Arminian/Lordship Salvation has done much damage to the gospel and much psychological damage to many saved believers.

I knew Arminianism was wrong when after leaving the church, having backslidden from active discipleship but not belief in God himself, God still remained faithful to me. I never felt I'd lost my salvation.

Yes, it is possible to sin after being saved, it is possible for a truly born again Christian to fall into even the most grievous of fleshly sins but these born again Christians who have the Holy Spirit dwelling within will not be able to commit these sins and feel nothing about it. A Christian will have the Holy Spirit's voice speaking to their heart convicting them of their sin and urging them to fall down and beg the Lord for forgiveness, a professing Christian who can commit all manner of sin and feel nothing within themselves speaking to their heart telling them that what they are doing is wrong and urging them to repent is in a terrifying state between two frightening possibilities: The first possibility is that they were never saved to begin with, the second possibility is that they have been cut off from being able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit because they have continuously refused to heed his voice and repent, these people are those in the bible who are described as "being saved so as by fire" they are saved but lived as though they never actually were. All of their works will be burned up as nothing that they did in life gave any glory to God, these people will still enter heaven but they will receive no crowns or rewards that they could have won had they been faithful and strived to do that which was pleasing to God, the bible also says that we as Christians can shorten our days on this earth by doing that which we know to be wrong in the sight of God. How shameful will it be for these Christians to stand before the Lord God Almighty and have nothing whatsoever to give back to the one who laid his life down so that they could be saved? Great shame and regret will be felt by these people who only just escaped a devil's hell by the skin of their teeth. There is something else to be said here about a Christian's ability to sin after salvation, just because it is possible for a Christian to sin and still be saved this fact should not make us feel comfortable with ourselves about committing sin, do not attempt to justify committing sin by saying "well the sin nature is just too strong for me to resist" yes, your sin nature is too strong for YOU to resist but nothing is too strong for GOD. There is always a way of escape, I am writing this to myself as much as I am writing this to those who are reading, we should never get in the habit of mentally justifying our sin, when we sin we should sit with what we have done and think about it, think about your relationship with the Lord, ask yourself: "do you love your sins more than you love God?"

i cant agree with this notion that we are born sinners. That is infact total depravity and original sin. Eccl 7:29 the Lord says he created all men upright but we sought out sin. We werent born in sin, we were born in weakness subject to succombing to temptation. To teach that we inherently have a sin nature means that Jesus wasnt fully man if he wasnt born in sin

Read Romans 5 sometime. Here's a couple of verse. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Jesus wasn't born of a man, he was born of God and therefore had no sin nature.

Romans 6:6 Our sinful nature was crucified with Christ.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make but a few verse below that Paul warns us not to sin. So clearly those that have eternal life can still sin. However, we shouldn't use our freedom in Christ to sin. Romans 6 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

@@Northlandchurchstc you are saying we have 2 natures and I'm saying the old one is crucified. So if one of them is dead are there still 2?
@NorthlandchurchstcАй бұрын
Our belief is that there are still 2 natures in a believer. The old nature is crucified in the sense that its power has been removed, but we can still yield to its lusts and desires. Pastor covers this in his commentary and in the following message. www.secureforever.org/romans6 kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2q6eWqMa9aLkKc

Calvinism doesn't preach works or freedom from sin. I've listened to john MacArthur severally and I've never heard him preach complete freedom from sinning once a person is saved. As a matter of fact that will contradict what they stand for.

"If you haven't made Jesus Lord of your life, you aren't saved." Adrian Rogers Isn't that terrible? Making Jesus Lord of your life is a WORK and occurs AFTER salvation, it is not an ADDITION to salvation. Justification and sanctification are two different things. We are saved by grace through faith OR we are saved by works. It is one or the other...it's not a combo or Ephesians 2: 8-9 is wrong. ANYONE who twists in works with faith to be saved is preaching another gospel. What part of "and this not of yourselves" is hard to understand?
