No wonder why i was so surprised at how low the singing was at the beginning, I spaced on the capo! 4th fret on the record.

Beautiful! Thank you!. There's a really nice detail to the turnaround where the final D starts with a hammer-on on the B string into a D7 shape (played together with the D string) then into the D shape (ie the 3rd fret on the B string). Its quite subtly played but really adds to the incredible tenderness of the song.

"You'll Get Yours Aplenty" By Blaze Foley? Very meaningful song, I believe its about what Blaze witnessed when he was in Chicago, first track on "The Dawg Years".

@@MikesMusicMethod you should do the song about the 27 8x10 color glossy photographs with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining how each one was to be used against Arlo and his buddy. Shouldn't too take long. I started on your channel with John Hurt's Lonesome Valley and 6 months later I am still in that lonesome valley sliding that g around trying to keep my thumb in line. Maybe one day I will climb outta that lonesome valley and start sittin on top of the world...

@@zwcamp haha, i think i only understood half of that. haha, but love your lyrical title pun at the end. Where ya from fellow goofball, and how's your picking journey been?
@zwcamp3 жыл бұрын
@@MikesMusicMethodhaha. Well, since "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" by Arlo Guthrie is not really about the 27 8x10 photos but the draft and ending war and stuff, I will apologize - its 18 minutes of talking blues and the same lick over and over haha. Im in west tn. You? Been listening to doc watson a lot lately and don't plan to be worthy to watch that tutorial yet. My style has been to play cool music on the stereo and pick wildly on my mandolin and pretend it sounds good. I wish I could play "I bid you goodnight" like Aaron Neville, but I think Joseph Spence's version is more up my alley! kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIikeoB7YreIapY yeah! If you wanna give it a try that'd be fun. Another one is John Hartford "turn your radio on".

you're welcome! Glad you're getting value from the videos! I've already got a tutorial up for Nothing! Check it out! I cant say I like Sanitarium Blues. A lot of that album doesnt quite feel like Townes. I suppose it being put together and released after his death.

@@MikesMusicMethod After I wrote this I found your video on Nothin'. What I like in Sanitarium Blues is the lead part. TVZ led a hard life with the booze and drugs. There's a few songs on the album that are good.

Lindsay, fair critique and solid feedback. I did botch the lighting on this one. My videos within the last 2 years have better quality as well as include tabs on screen as well as available for free download on my website. I have over 30 Townes tunes transcribed with pretty darn good accuracy, hope you'll give another one a shot. If not, God bless and good luck with the picking.If my stuff is a bit too detailed and true to form frans kuijpers has an amazing channel where he simplifies the tunes. Check him out!

love your idea about making up a sentence to associate with the finger pick pattern... but honestly, I'd rather just use the actual lyrics. Otherwise I'd be on stage and start singing about ice cream sprinkles... and you know chicks dig guitar players, not ice cream junkies.

haha. But hey, start singing about the sprinkles. the groupies are no good for the soul anyway.
