The Lord of Easter Is the Christ of Faith: Peace Be with You: Why Are You Troubled? This question is also thrown at our Society in the present moment. Though we have known Jesus for a long time we are still terrified for a lot of reasons because when temptation comes we turn our back on Jesus. He knew that and He is aware of our weakness and our little faith is no secret to Him every time we tremble. Blessings! That is so unfortunate that you have been abused by your dad. In your case the church teaches that you do not have to subject yourself to his abuse.in fact you should strive to take action to separate yourself from that abuse. Your love and honor for him should be in your willingness to pray for him, his conversion and salvation of his soul. At no time should love and honor be construed to mean that you should be subjected to abusive behavior.
