I agree with the niche point. But I have found that most of my subs came from two videos where I explained London Accents from the perspective of a Londoner. Most of my videos though are about how to learn foreign languages, develop discipline / routine and general self improvement. Now because of this, I am finding that a lot of the people who subbed for those two stand out London accent videos do not want to watch the bulk of my channel's videos. I am at a weird spot and I almost want to start a new channel just for one niche now that I have experimented a little.

I also did this a little, the one thing i will say now is as you get more consistent you can use that gear. All is not lost if you keep going! I have tried to introduce one extra piece of equipment a month and it's been working well. So many times i bought something and never spent time to really understand how to use it "properly" so it always felt like a waste. I recently spent a long time learning about lighting and i've finally started to get a look i wanted.
