Great video. I've been following you for some time. You're content is very inspiring to me. In my normal life I work as a creative and designer in my own small company. I've recently discovered the magic of video and it's opened up completely new levels of expression for me. I'm looking forward to the journey. One of the people who encourages me to do this is you. Thank you for that.

Thanks for the great advice! Looking back, I wish I would have bought camera bodies only when I started, like You said

Hopefully OBP, won't mind me replying... For Drama go with Primes. Even if you can only afford one or two. Remember a lens is for life. You'll upgrade your camera a few times, but a good lens should last a lifetime. So only buy really good ones. - I'd also correct the microphone advice for Drama. Work with a sound recordist. Recording straight to camera is okay as a guide track, to help with editing, but not good enough for Drama. So make sure your Producer/Director brings in a sound recordist. Everything else OBP says is good advice. + Learn good on set etiquette. Nobody likes difficult crew members. Work as a camera assistant for a few established DPs, wherever possible. Good luck.

Hopefully this comment finds you, but is it possible to make real good money if you're not given work by an agency or do not work for big production companies?
@OBP_2 ай бұрын
It depends on what you consider to be really good money. You can quite safely make £10k per month as a freelance videographer if you have the equipment and experience. Just get started.

@@OBP_ By freelance you mean finding clients yourself outside of production companies giving you their work?
