Hey OBP, Just found your video now that I'm a happy owner of an S5II. I have a question if you can help me: is the 7'' version of the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR needed to shoot BRAW with the S5II or would the 5" version also work? Thank you!

Headsets are a game changer for sure! got me a set of 4, first time I decided to leave them back behind because it was a "small set" I instantly regretted it. I now have a set of 6, they make it almost everywhere I go.
@ocimaging7 сағат бұрын
So what you're saying is even if I have 2 of the headsets with the blue tag one of them can still be the lead/main one?

Did you use Gen5 for each camera?

I wanted to buy one used today, the inner lensed had fungi on it. I was shocked. It turned out the early models had lots of complaint of the fungi on inner lensed. But I'm really thinking on forgetting this - anyway amazing lens - due to the fact it's prone to fungi and go for a Sigma 28-105 f2.8.

I really like the 67mm filter size, which matches all my other 1.4 GM primes.

I wish they had a G9. I want to buy the G5ii, and I'd love to pair it with a G9 (a M43 version of the S9 that works with all the same micro lenses) for riskier shoots where I don't want to risk damaging the G5.

I have the Samyang 85mm f1.4... it's beautiful for photos, but loses autofocus for video in even a slight wind. I might replace it with this.

@OBP_ I also just picked up the Laowa 10mm FF AF. It was a little pricier than the Sirui, but wow it's wide angle, short min focal distance and low distortion is insane. And speaking of Sirui have their Saturn anamorphic set... I am curious about this 85mm though. Because I have a slew of Jupiter 9, Helios 40, Zeiss Pancolar and the new 7aetisans 75mm Biotar clone. 85mm is one of my fav focal lengths.

I own a Sony FX9 and two Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k's (G1/G2) I still reach for my Ursa's every single time. The FX9 is a fantastic camera, but it feels like an Excel spreadsheet. The menu's, image, features on the Ursa are an overall win for me.

@ma-scalia8629 I have no idea what you're asking. Can you be more specific? Please thanks
@ma-scalia86296 күн бұрын
@@johnrpittenger why are you waiting for an anamorphic lens with AF? Most situations where ppl use them they use manual focus. You could also get lidar AF
@johnrpittenger6 күн бұрын
@@ma-scalia8629 I do a lot of running and gunning type stuff, I also do a lot of gimble work. It's hard to pull focus on a gimbal by myself. I know there's lidar, I get it, but the technology is just not there for me. Mainly because I want to focus perfectly on the eye when I shoot. I'll admit I have very limited experience with lidar but the few times I've used it I've been very dissatisfied. I really would enjoy using anamorphic lenses but as of now there's no Good options for full frame.

Great video! I’m really shocked that they don’t make an L-mount version of this lens! I’m a sony shooter but I plan on switching to the s5 soon, but for some reason quite a few lens companies don’t make lenses for L mount. Suiri is probably loosing a lot of costumers by not having an L mount version.
@OBP_7 күн бұрын
Yeah, right. They all seem to make non-AF lenses in L-mount, like cine lenses, etc., so I wonder if there's some gatekeeping from Sigma/Leica on the mount and its electronics.

@@OBP_ for now just meike have Af len for lmount. Hope other can join soon. So mucb 3rd party len i want in l mount so bad like samyang prime len, ttartisan,... the sigma is too expensive
@ojaswitluthra64826 күн бұрын
@@HungTran-wf3guI'm sure samyang will begin to release some lenses in L mount soon now that they've joined the l mount alliance, hopefully we see some other brands begin following meike's lead. this sirui 85mm seems killer for the price compared to the sigma 85mm 1.4 at its price.

12:19 I’m just wondering why these two shots were exposed completely differently to the detriment of the lumix?
@videotuotannot26932 күн бұрын
I think the camera settings were matched, not exposures. The Lumix is brighter in each shot which makes it look less filmic

I would also add something to the pricing section. When one is starting as a videographer there isn't really a lot of work - people don't know you, you don't know your craft, you don't have connections; what's more, if you are relying just on video production to earn your living, it's also more likely that you are going to be more desperate to get work, working for pennies as a result. How to earn more? Do more: your own projects (non-commercial), more tutorials, learn new techniques. You need to get more exposure, let people know what you do, that you re good at it and what value you can bring to their business / project or whatever they do. Ultimately you will get to the point where the income becomes steady and constant and you will not be afraid to raise prices. That one client who will tell you that you are too expensive and can't really hire you won't make a difference - and honestly - you will be happy for having one weekend without work to just relax. (At that point you are stepping into work-life balance, but that's another story)

I was wondering why I was uncomfortable with your accent and I've heard accents from different countries, however, I was never uncomfortable with them. Then I realized that in your accent, most of the words comes from the throat rather than from the mouth. Usually accents has different tones from the norm, however in your case, the tones are normal, but the words are generated from the throat, any words with "T" , "N" comes from the throat, so they are not properly enunciated.

it's not worth it. Apart from the quality of the video, it has no redeeming factors in terms of ergonomics, weight, size, battery life, focus, ibis, etc.. stuff that modern day cameras take for granted. Design wise, it's ugly as hell. Quit promoting stuff like this and get us back on cameras we can use. For ad hoc videos in the streets or with friends, this is not it. It has to be mounted on a tripod, and the shot planned in advanced. Forget about just holding it in your hands, walking with it to take in the scenery. This is like having a car with a great engine that accelerates really fast but the car looks like shit, comes in crappy color, the dashboard indicators are all over the place, the seats are uncomfortable, doesn't have any radio or any in car entertainment and the petrol tank capacity is half of that of other cars and the fuel efficiency is very bad.
