Really liked your story, my grandpa bought a Hundred Acre Farm at 1950 for $40 an acre with an old house and barn on it, now I live on 40 acres of that property that he gave to me before he died so he had the same vision as you did, my grandpa told me one time when he bought that property he thought he would be paying for it for the rest of his life they paid for it in 3 years by raising Hogs and and cows on it

Paul Harvey did a piece in "The Rest of the Story", about how a couple showed up at Harvard, wanting to see the President. He in his overalls, she was wearing a "farmer's wife" dress; they were put off most of the day, but finally got to see the President. They explained that their son had wanted to attend Harvard, but had been killed in an accident, and they wanted to contribute for a building in his name. The President scoffed at them, saying, "Why, such a building would cost a million dollars!" The wife looked at her husband and said, "Is that all? Why don't we build our own university?" And that's the rest of the story behind Stanford University.

My heart goes out to ya Danny! I totally understand what you have talked about this morning! We can always look back and saying I wish I coulda, shoulda, woulda, when I was younger, but praise God he gives us a chance to look back and see and realize what he put in front of us and missed it. But thank you and praise you God for all the chances you gave me and you still believe in me! Praise God!

I've been wearing Overalls since the mid-90's myself. I Carry everything i need in the pockets including a 9mm filled with rat shot for the rats and bad snakes on my farm. Here recently with the craziness going on in town with people getting mugged in our country walmart, i switched from rat shot to hollow points...lol. Don't ever worry about what other folks think about you or what you are doing, They laughed at Noah too. The world is overflowing with fools right now. Satan has pulled out all of the stops because he knows that his party is winding down and the Lord's judgement is coming. I'm Starting building my second of three huge greenhouses tomorrow and have my aquaculture equipment ready for raising catfish. That with 2 years worth of food in the pantry and learning how to can my own food has actually been fun and very satisfying. Thank you brother for helping folks to wake up to reality, the serious reality that's about to come soon. Work on those crowns of Glory, lead people to salvation now. Time is short. Tom

Good morning. I’m 70 yrs old and still learning. I had to separate 2 hens from among 5 roosters yesterday, not easy if you’re never done it before. Tried to throw a fish net over them and they ran right out from under it. Got them in the hen house and was finally able to catch them. Another thing my husband and me realize now, helping your children financially so they won’t have a hard life like we did, is not necessarily a good thing. It’s better they learn early in marriage, mama & daddy are not always gonna be there to save them. Especially if your daughter in laws are spenders. There was much wisdom in this video, Danny.

I’m sorry this is going to be so long but after watching your video I felt I needed to share. Our entire life is full of teachers and lessons. My parents were very cruel abusive people. Every lesson I learned from them was punishment and pain. I learned how to be an aggressive heat filled individual. Later in life I realized the greatest lesson my mother ever taught me was how not to be. I learned lessons with love and compassion from my grandmother every summer when I went to Kentucky. She taught me to cook, garden, how to tend to animals and how to love my family and neighbors. Unfortunately the lessons I learned from my parents were passed to my children in the beginning. I was not a kind loving mother until I got much older. I learned love and compassion also from an aunt and uncle. I’m sorry that the positive lessons were not passed on to my children until later in life but I am so thankful that I am able to pass on love and compassion to my grandchildren. Be a good teacher. Try to always teach everyone you encounter with love and compassion. Thank you so much Danny for sharing your stories and your lessons. God bless you

Danny don't give up your You Tube channel. You are a world of knowledge and information for those that need help with building, gardening, and you and Wanda are an inspiration for a lot more people than those that trash you. I'm a new subscriber and very much enjoyed your videos. Wish I could see or visit the two of you. I'm sure we'd have a lot to share. In so many ways my life is very similar to yours. I'm also a vet, Viet Nam period, I'm 70 years young, I quit being in God when I was in the ninth grade and I saw my 8 year old brother pass away. And up till than I was thinking I wanted to be a priest. Thank God I found him again when I was 35. Enuff of all that. You just keep on doing what you're doing. God needs good soliders like you and Wanda. God bless you brother and have a fantastic day. ( Go outside in the garden and get your hands dirty. I always liked the feel of the earth in my hands)

Danny, I love your porch time. Please don't stop because of ignorant people. My momma always said "Look at the mouth it came out of." My grandfather's passed away before I was born. My father passed away when I was younger. So for people like me you are the way we gain knowledge about gardening. But to me porch time is the best because you give so much knowledge about the Bible and reminding us to be spiritually ready. The people that say nasty things are either jealous, ignorant, or lost souls.

@@ghostprepper5859 The original king James bible had several other books in it That was taken out in the 1800s. To say there's only 66 books is to say the original KJV was in error for having them in it. Which would have made it not inspired but just a group of written texts. Everything in Enoch is in the Bible.

Amen, Danny. I just said a similar thing to my dad recently. His parents lived through the depression and my mother's parents were farmers. The wealth of information they took with them to their graves just saddens me. All the learning opportunities I wasted when they were alive. Now I'm trying to catch up, as best I can. Thank you for your Porch Times. Sorry for the cr*p that you have to put up with but your work here is appreciated.

Thats where me and my husband are at. So we did the unthinkful. We sold our house, paid off our debt, had to down size a ton and rent temp for this last year and we paid for 10 acres of land just outside the city. God pointed us right to it. It was owned by a hoader however so its taking a lot of work to clean up. My husbands friends son was selling a small mobile home in really good shape for a great deal. So we bought it and moved it out there. Its been so hard to live cramped and have to live where you just dont feel like its home. These holidays have been difficult because of this as well. Its scary because we dont know much, but I know God has placed this journey in our lives. Every stepping stone he has provided and more. Nothing has felt forced, everything has fallen right in place. We move out there in July. I would go now if I could but some repairs are still needed to live there. Our kids on the otherhand are not at fond of this idea. As a momma it hurts my heart to have to hurt my kids to do what I KNOW is right. At our house in the city, we were 100% depended on the government and the system if anything was to happen. Out at our land, we have dreams of being self sustainable as much as possible. Thats way when the country implodes on itself. We will have a way to survive without the grid, without the grocery stores etc. God willing anyway, thats what we want.

I love your stories. Todays was especially close to my heart. It felt like you were talking about me. And when you got to the part about your denim overalls I couldn’t help but smile. I grew up in an area known as the mill village. That’s where all the denim was made. There were four different mills all around there that did different things. The kids Were all known as lint heads because of all the lint in the air from the mills. My mama worked as a weaver in one of them and she would be covered in lint when she came home. Daddy was a truck driver so it was just me and mama during the week. We didn’t have a lot but we lived comfortably. I wish my kids could have lived the way I did. It blows my mind the things they blow money on. But I did the best I could. At least they aren’t into alcohol and drugs. I have that to be thankful for. God bless you and Wanda. And please don’t leave KZbin. You help keep my spirits up with your stories of days long gone. Love y’all ❤😮

I appreciate this porch talk (cabin talk?), Danny. Both of my sons were reared in church, both baptized, (Baptist) and both home schooled with Christian curriculum. As far as I know, they have never been into drugs, have never been in trouble with the police, and they are a truly blessing to me today. But I had to realize during those formative teen years that just because I had them surrounded by Christian influences a children and young adults, I had to back up and shut up till they "grew." THAT is so hard for a Mama to do! :0 Today, they are amazing men and God has brought them through the growing up years and into the "growing" years.

Amen Danny 🙏 The most important decision we will ever make in life, is marriage and who we choose to care for and rear our children with! Getting married young and in love, but reality and responsibility set in and sadly my 1st marriage didn't last due to immaturity, pride and infidelity on his side. I have forgiven him and see that it takes two people to make a marriage work! Now on my second marriage for 7 years now, but I learned my lesson and made a better choice who to raise my family with, because physical attraction fades and the grass is not always greener on the other side, we have to nurture and water our side. Blessings to all and hopefully we can teach our youth wisdom ❤️

Wow.... this bought back a memory for sure. I spent most of my time with my grandparents ( born in 1900 btw) When my grandfather went to work the cows, MY 10 year old brilliant self decided I was going to hoe the beans while my grandmother made "dinner:" and imagined just how proud they would be of me. My grandfather returned to the prettiest row of morning glories you could ever see. He was not happy that day but laughed about it for 25 years.

Thank you Danny for this porch time and it's never to long every week I get so much out of it.I grew up catholic church and when i was young the school gave us a little New Testament book and i remember my mom telling me I shouldn't read that by myself anyway I did and since then I always though there was something wrong with the catholic church, the statues, the saints , the priest garments etc. I didn't really understand why I was like that and I thought I was the one in the wrong and after I was an adult I started questioning they would give me answers that didn't make sense to me. Read a lot of books and finally understood Jesus was our only way to salvation and not confessing my sins every day to be forgiven and going to confession that I was forgiven once for all, that was so liberating for me so now I thank Jesus every day for what He did on the cross .You have clarified a lot of things for me too so thank you.I'm 73 as you can see it took me a long time.

Thank you for this wisdom and the reminder of “when he is old”. My husband & I are your age and have seen the changes in family & society that you have. Our son’s family has told us they will not see us at Christmas when they live very close to us-if it had not been the “reason” they gave, they’d have found another. Like Wanda, we homeschooled our kids and raised them to follow Christ. I somehow think that should make a difference-I still do think Godly training does…ultimately it is the enemy who seeks to kill & destroy-and it can be hard to remember that we war not with flesh & blood when it is our own flesh & blood causing us pain. You & Wanda make your viewers feel like a part of your own family-and we who know Christ are all part of the family of God. Bless you with all heavenly blessings!❤

I see things a bit differently. I look back at what I learned and I DONT wish I could go back again because that isn't the way God intended it. He gave us this acquired knowledge and wisdom to pass onto the next generation. I've passed it onto my kids. I'm not concerned that most people in this nation haven't been given this opportunity to learn the old ways from their parents. That would take up my valuable time if I worried about others not doing their job as parents. Thanks to youtube and folks like YOU, I continue to learn, at the age of 59!!! I'm like a sponge. I'm almost obsessed with learning more and more. I've made it a point to learn something new everyday. Everything I'm learning is STILL being passed onto my adult kids. Think about this. My parents were born in 1931 and 1933. They taught me what they learned from their parents, AND I was fortunate enough to have a great grandpa who lived well into his 90s, a storyteller and "teacher of the old ways", who would go camping with us beside the trout stream in tents clear into his late 80s. Now I learn even more from folks like you. I'd say you are doing us all a service by teaching what you know. To say thanks for what you are doing isn't near enough. To keep you and Wanda in my prayers is my way of saying thank you. Please keep doing what you do. You are making a difference out here! More than you even know. 🌻

My dad wore overalls everyday to work as a carpenter. Now he's building homes in heaven for the greatest Master Carpenter. There are many things I'd like a do-over on. But I know that God's timing is perfect. I appreciate you & Wanda so much. Thank you for sharing your wisdom & your lives with us. God bless your You Tube ministry.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! You'll never know, how much your videos mean to us ( my 88 year old dad, me and my husband). Thank you for listening to the Lords leading in your life. Although we are starting late in life, we are taking steps to help ourselves and our family, in the future.

My dad always wore overalls. He used to drill waterwells and work on windmills and farm. When he got older he still farmed, but stopped drilling water wells. He still worked on windmills though. He kept his wallet in his bib pocket and also a small notebook with people's names needing well or windmill work and phone numbers. He also always had an ink pen in his bib pocket. In a side pocket he always carried a pair of ceetee pliers. The day of his funeral as we all passed by his casket my middle son slid an ink pen in his bib pocket and yes we buried him in a pair of overalls. He was the wisest man I've ever known.

I cried because as you speak I see my husband. I always say we should not feel sorry for ourselves or let anyone feel that for us. Feeling sorry for who ever get us into trouble. Think we are doing good, but Abba Yah says our goodness stinks. That got me thinking: so when someone plays on my emotions and move me "to do good unto them" without me testing first. That when it bite me in the behind. Thanks for sharing an amazing journey with us you two. Washing dishes a second time listening to you and our Father Yahuah just let me feel the pain of loneliness. Then I see people fall back to what they think they know. 😢😊🙌

Danny, When you was talking about the deal on all the acreage it made me think of a deal my lil daddy was given and he done just like you and didn’t take it. Across the road from daddy’s land a neighbor lived and had 40 acres with a beautiful brick home on it, well her husband died and she was a “Special Needs lady” so she was put in a home and her mama before putting her there offered daddy the whole shootin match for $25 grand after daddy let it slip threw his hands he realized what a mistake he’d made with it getting sectioned off and new people moving in right on top of us, until the very day he died he regretted not buying that land, he did however get us some BEAUTIFUL antique furniture of solid cedar and 1 memory in particular was the morning he couldn’t fit one of the cedar wardrobes in his blazer and put it on his back and carried it over into our house, If daddy couldn’t figure out a way to do something it couldn’t be done...LOL A Loyal Watcher Connie C

Danny Been watching your videos for about a year really enjoy them. It’s one of my favorite highlights of my week. I can Relate to everything you talk about. I’m 60 and remember growing up and instead of playing, watching tv on weekend mornings my parents had my brother and I helping my dad either work around the house or in the garden. Remember in the 1960’s, 70’s when there were quite few of the old farm houses around. Barns and Outhouses were common. Can also relate because my Wife also passed away 2 years ago of cancer. For years I took good care of her taking her to all the different doctors, appointments and getting her the very best Vitamins, and supplements. That’s what she believed in and wanted. Did my very best to help and miss her now but I have no regrets. Please keep making the videos!

Bro. Danny I guarantee you every person on earth wishes that had done things differently. But God has a plan and purpose for all of us. If we don't quit, God won't quit. I'm 68 and God is still working on me and opening doors for me despite my failures in my youth. The life I lived I shouldn't even be here now, but God said no, I have plans for you. All glory and praise to God.

I remember Insulbrick siding. I also remember overhearing a conversation between my Dad and my Mom when I was little. He was putting the money from his pay on top of the various bills on the kitchen table. Shifting money around to make sure every bill got something payed on it. The money didn't stretch far enough. We lived in a mobile home. My Dad's car was a 1962 Pontiac Parisian that my Grampa had given to him. It was 10 years old. We ate weiners, spam and bologna. We weren't living high and spending money on frivolous things. My Dad worked 15 hours a day 6 days a week as an industrial mechanic in a factory. My first indication of how poor we were was the words my Dad said to my Mom that day while paying bills. He said "Linda, we're in trouble". I remember how those 4 words hit me. It was my first time to recognize that we were poor. Our neighbours and everyone else we knew were poor. Some of them more so than us. I never knew we were poor before then. It's interesting how frame of mind makes such a difference. We were poor for sure yet I had never even known it before then.

I dive into my past (in my mind) too often, wishing I could have done things differently. Been better, walked with God more, avoided the evil traps of the world. But, I realized about 10 years ago that it was the path I had to walk to know the Lord better, to know myself better. I did not settle -- I now live the life I want, because I recognize this is the life God intended for me. Thank you for your wisdom, and time to teach us Danny.

Danny, ONE THING I can be assured of is TRUTH when I listen to your videos. We can't find that just everywhere. The people who are making the cruel comments, etc. will one day wish they had listened. God has placed upon you the ability to just speak plain truth! Please know that Wanda is correct, there are many of us that are eager to learn from you - regardless of what it is. My daddy was much like your daddy, so I can understand how you see how your work ethic was "created". Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your's and Wanda's life with us. God bless you! P.S. Great to see your thumb is healing and no bandage today!!

Clothes don't make the man . There are men in expensive suits thats character leaves alot to be desired. But the man in simple clothing can have a character that is honorable and wise . You Danny are a wise and honorable man . Caring and compassionate . Filled with the love of God . I'm proud to consider you a friend even though I've never met you. We make stupid decisions when we are young but, it is temper to make us stronger and wiser as we age. I, too, have had a hard life but, it made me strong. I also was always a history nerd so I listened to my Grandma and learned some of the old ways from her. The lessons she taght me and God are what got me this far at the age of 61 not the bachelor's degree from Ole Miss.
