Holy cow you’re probably right it makes all sense, we see your parents are very gaslighting and clearly they were not healthy parents considering how Gail turned out out, not to mention how men does clearly over paranoid a lot chance to jump to conclusions too much and clearly has emotional issues that stem from her parents generations can pass on mental problems if we’re not careful. I’m so late to this but I love how you can tell that because Linda is unhappy her kids don’t have the fire that makes them them. Tina is a romantic so is Linda because she married the love of her life and believes in romance. Gene is loud and boisterous because Linda is loud and boisterous and encourages Gene. I could say being with someone you aren’t in love with or like is definitely mess with your confidence and I bet Linda is less loud and fun with Hugo. And Louise is a firecracker daredevil because we also have seen multiple times Linda is also a ride or die and will do anything for those she loves. I think it’s super sweet Tina understands this somehow that their mom being her true self helped them be themselves

Didn’t really like this story though. Tina just copy paste her life but reverse it. In what if, you have to make the characters alternate choices to make sense. At best, Bob would have been a waiter or work at a restaurant rather than running it as he doesn’t have Linda to help him. And never once Hugo said he wanted to be a hot dog guy as Linda said he was passionless. Maybe he would be a house husband while Linda work. There was barely an effort into this what if, if I have to be honest
