Where hashirama's way of achieving peace was to plant seeds of friendship in everyone Hearts which will eventually grow in time and peace and harmony would be finally achieved. By the end of the series the only way to kill Muzan is sunlight. Decapitastion and red sword don't work. They only keep him busy. Though Madara would easily fight him from sundown to sunrise. Though with Tanjiro demon who is also imune to sunlight it would be an endless battle.
