My Theory: Mirabel could've gotten a gift. To get a gift: Touch the candle, Touch the door then BOOM You have a gift but, Mirabel.. she touched the candle, wiped the magic off her dress, and touched rhe candle. That is exactly why Mirabel didn't get a gift. But, I don't think my explanation is canon.
