However, in Part 1, aside from the exams, it seems implausible. Sasuke's battle with Gaara was necessary due to its connection to Itachi. Neji could also serve this role, but differently, and it wouldn't carry the same impact given Gaara's penchant for discussing hatred. A plausible scenario for Part 1 could be after the Gaara fight, where Sasuke, envious of Naruto's performance, might challenge Neji as a final test. If he fails to defeat someone Naruto has beaten, it would confirm his inferiority. This confrontation could lend significance to his ultimate battle with Naruto. Yet, a fight in the final arc of Part 1 seems unlikely. Still, I'm open to different perspectives as we're all fans here, and I'm currently creating 'what ifs' for my channel, so your insight is welcome.

If you really think about it, we only got 1 arc with an actual regular Ninja mission before it went exam/tournament for a while, into evil enemy attacks, into Sasuke going emo and running away for power, at least as far as main party acts are concerned. There was, of course, the Tsunade arc, but, overall, very short. Part 1 definitely needed like, at least 3 more arcs similar to Zabuza. But I guess there may have been some influence from how manga like Yu Yu Hakusho progressed where all of the regular job arcs were the least popular and they "just wanted to get to the good stuff". At least that's what it feels like to me. Which is kinda sad, cause the land of waves was one of the best arcs in the series. More missions like that. Or at least a couple chapters dedicated to the progress of the other genin teams would've gone a long way. Maybe another big mission arc with team 7 or maybe team 7 and another team would've been good to have before the Sasuke retrieval arc.

I've been thinking this ever since i watched the full series, part 1 was my favorite part but i wish they had more missions together before Sasuke escapes the village. Another fight we never had was Rock Lee vs Neji, which i feel like was such a wasted opportunity because they are supposedly rivals. I would also had loved if Sasuke had more interactions with other characters, you know. In my opinion his departure from team 7 would have been way more effective if Sasuke had a bigger connection with the village (including his team and the other characters) maybe having a couple of arcs with Sasuke teaming up with characters like Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Neji and Naruto, etc. That's one of the things i would change in Naruto's progression, i would make Sasuke had a stronger connection with the characters instead of showing him as totally apathetic for them. He can still be introvert of closed but show he cares for them.

the problem is that Sasuke's growth conditions relied on Lee, who couldn't beat Neji with the abilities Sasuke copied (speed + 1st gate/Primary Lotus). The chidori wouldn't help here either cause you can see it a mile away. Neji already has the best reflexes, so giving him time to prepare for the cidori is wild. Sasuke isn't a master of it yet like in Shippuden

That is a fight Sasuke would have lost for sure, unless he relied on his curse mark. We already know that Lee's speed wasn't enough for Lee to beat Neji and Sasuke only copied Lee's speed, he didn't exceed it. Kaiten counters most of the jutsu that Sasuke has from Fire Jutsu to Chidori, and if Sasuke stayed in melee range for long he would have got all of his tenketsu blocked by Eight Trigrams: 64 Palms. If Sasuke already had his 3 tomoe Sharingan at that point he may have been able to process the hand movements of 64 Palms fast enough to dodge them, but probably not with the 2 tomoe Sharingan he had at the time.

Hyugas are the ultimate counter to the Uchihas. 1. Visual Genjutsu doesn’t work on a Byakugan. 2. Rotation deflects attacks like Fire Style which is the element of the Uchiha. 3. Vacuum Palm can counter low class Susano as its compressed transparent energy. 4. Byakugan can evolve into the Tenseigan and give a Chakra armour equal to a max power Susano. 5. Hyugas come from Hamura who was equal to Hagoromo the ancestor of Uchihas.

The Hyuuga struggle at long-range combat and that was even proved more than once as their main weakness later, as Neji fought Kidoumaru and Hinata fought Pain (the times I can remember as of now). So Neji's achievement with Hakke Kuushou really *is* of great importance not only to his but even to the Hyuuga clan's evolving as a whole. If he had used that in Chuunin Shiken at 13-14, Hiashi should go on and give up the clan's leadership to Neji, right away!

According to the Uchiha, Hyuga members have cut through fireballs with Jyuken alone. So - it doesn't have to be Kuusho. It could be the regular Gentle Fist. And it wouldn't be unrealistic either because Neji broke through Kisame's Water Prison later.

Meanwhile a regular gentle palm could only disperse the fire (and probably would need the Hyuuga guy to emit chakra through his skin pores so the fire wouldn't hurt his skin at any rate) and thus would require more caution. AND is a medium/long range technique, by the way. But regardless of all that, these were nowhere near my point, as I simply pointed out an anachronism.

It probably would have been good if the Hyuga had taken in saske after he lost his family. They are really the only 2 families with dojustu. Lee states he needs 3 gates to keep up Neji and 5 to beat him. He was able to blitz Gaara cause he was out of it having PTSD of his mom and Lee. Not mention Neji had an equal clash with Ninetails chakra. And the explosion of Naruto nine tail cloak and Neji rotation had a bigger blast than anything Sasuke could do at that time. Sasuke probably would do worse than tail beast cloak Naruto.

Disregard the person who claims Neji can only keep up with 2nd Gate due to his taijutsu skills. As It has already been stated by Lee that one needs a fast body speed to match his super speed, even with special eyes. It's not merely "TAIJUTSU SKILL AND NOTHING ELSE. which clearly makes no sense. Skills or precognition won't matter if one is too slow as you need to be able to move in response. Fernando apparently hasn't read the manga so one should take him back to the academi. Even a weakened Rotation could repel a chakra attack containing significantly more Kyubi chakra than that of Sasuke's Chidori. Moreover, Rotation is considered to be on par with Gaara's sand dome, which it has penetrated, suggesting an advantage for chidori against Rotation, although elemental superiority could be argued. This leaves the outcome uncertain. Lee's weightless speed can easily evade Sasuke's Chidori, without a Sharingan, Lee would only be hit by a Chunin exam-level Chidori due to it and not speed. Neji, being much faster and able to anticipate attacks like Sasuke, excels in close-quarters combat. Sasuke, even with the curse mark, stands no chance against Neji.

It’s amusing that Gai warned Neji about the Shidori, when he had no idea how Kakashi was training Sasuke. Moreover, Gai didn’t participate in Neji’s post-qualification training. Also, Kakashi did know Neji and would have likely trained Sasuke to defeat Neji. This implies that perhaps it wasn’t the Shidori or speed that Sasuke would have learned, but possibly Genjutsu. Regardless, the effort is appreciated and it was really fun to watch.

Sasuke is a lot stronger than Neji, as well as being much faster. He also can literally predict neji’s every move so I feel a taijutsu exchange between them would go more in sasukes favor. Although I’m not 100% on whether or not chidori is a instant win for sasuke.

Shidori cannot pass the neji's spin defense. In Manga no one has ever broken the defense of the hyuga's spinning technique, not even Juubi. And Byakugan can basically sees everything in 360 degrees so it doesn't matter whether you are fast or not, neji can see you with his eyes and has enough reaction speed.

@@ihy2083 well there is that time Naruto stalemated neji’s rotation with a kunai lol. Based on this logic a chidori should be able to EASILY pierce through the rotation. Also there’s literally nothing that the chidori hasn’t been able to pierce. From condensed sand, bijuu cloaks, bijuu themselves, and even the raikages lighting cloak. It’s extremely unlikely that out of all of these overpowered abilities neji’s rotation is what negates the chidori lol. Also the byukaguan doesn’t grant the user omnipotents. I’m not sure where you’re getting all this headcannon from. But if someone is too fast for neji to keep up with then he’s getting speed blitzed… His 360 degree vision is irrelevant if he’s not able to keep up. Even kaguya got blitzed by sakura with 360 degree vision. So no, neji isn’t just magically reacting to everything that’s not how the byakugan works. Neji still needs to be able to track his opponents movements AS WELL as being fast enough to react to them.

Na Sasuke loses pretty badly. Answer these questions if he doesn't lol. Wasn't it shown that base Sasuke is only relative to Lee w/o weights in speed? Shouldn't Neji at least be faster than 2nd Gate Lotus Lee since it takes the 3rd gate plus the Hidden lotus to overcome prelims Neji? (Hidden Lotus is a speed amp on top of the 3rd gate btw) which a lot of people don't know. Then we have the fact that Neji has better precog and faster eyes with feats like tracking Hidden lotus alongside 3T Kakashi. Sasuke's best if tracking 1tailed Gaara who got tracked by Base Naruto and SAKURA , same Sakura who can't even perceive the hidden lotus. Allowing the gentle fist combined with byakugan effectively neutralise a jutsu earned a like sub and comment. This fact is overlooked in so many versus discussions. Hyuga are experts in taijutsu but weakest against overwhelming physical attacks, not chakra. (Nerd moment, ahem). Having Neji break out rotation against the chidori makes sense as countering it with gentle fist at that speed may not be backed by his feats at that age, however he did deflect ballista type attacks in the forest arc using a more advanced version of gentle fist.

Nice choreography and animation. I think Neji beats all the chunin but since Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara all have a second chakra source he couldn't shutdown they'd beat him once they transform.
