I think it’s important to make a distinction between just having friends that are guys & having “guy friends”. What I mean by this is that there is absolutely 0 issue with girls having a group of guys that they would go out with on weekends. The issue arises when she stays in constant contact with a guy. If he’s just somebody she she’s once or twice a month when they’re all out with friends together it doesn’t matter, if he’s texting her all the time that’s when I’d be sus.

I had a guy tell me this when I was trying to be his friend and that's it. Like he was literally "date me, because girls and guys can't just be friends". Which is just false. I understand where you’re coming from, but I think you should look a little bit more at if it’s stemming from insecurity/jealousy. There’s nothing wrong with feeling those things, but it’s how we act on them. Respect in a relationship is subjective, while you view it that way, many people view maintaining friendships with the opposite gender as entirely normal. In a healthy relationship, trust should allow both partners the space to have individuality, and individual friendships without assuming disrespect. Ultimatums like that can be seen as kinda controlling, if anything, a compromise would be the most considerate and respectful to her and yourself. If you can’t agree with each other, then maybe you aren’t compatible. Everyone has a different viewpoint, sometimes they clash. Maybe she doesn’t even have guy friends, and then it works out for you. But if she does, I would suggest changing the way you approach it, or just accepting that you aren’t compatible if you can’t. It’s not fair to her at all to have to cut off people she’s been friends with. You would be isolating her from people she cares about. Trusting your partner to make their own decisions is the sign of a self-confident, secure individual. Trying to dictate her friendships is undermining her autonomy (which no one should lose just because they enter a relationship) and could be seen a disrespectful. While there may be exceptions, like if she were friends with an ex or past romantic/sexual partner, making her cut off her strictly platonic friends is not fair to her, or a sign of a self-confidence in you.
