Namdev ji, it is life. You clearly explained the directors problem that the film as shot was too long, and he had to cut it down to ~ 3 hours. And the director did not feel comfortable to break the bad news to you directly that your part was cut. Initially, he may not have finalized that your part will be cut, hence mentioned that you would be called later for dubbing. Think of the Director’s pain that he cannot show his creative work in full but has to cut it for commercial reasons. For you, I know it was embarrassing for you in front of your friends and family mentioning that you had an important role in the film. Anyway, thank the Director for casting you in the film, appreciating your work in the film, and the brother telling you that they will contact you in the future. I know an actor’s profession is tough, but build connections. Keeping connections may get you work. In my profession also I have faced similar situations. I applied for jobs when unemployed, and one job I really wanted but they did not call me. Eventually after six months they called me and said come and join on Monday. By that time, my passion to work for that company had gone. I thought they want to hire me so easy even without an interview. They will probably fire me equally easily. I said no, I was not interested. Later I found other work. That’s my humble feedback. Thanks for sharing this story.
