Be prepared to spend more money on stuff than you thought it would be and having a proper set up from the beginning is better than a rushed half assed set up.

Agreed but Im also a firm believer that the ocean has non of the technology yet performs 5 times better than most tanks could dream naturally so I feel spending TIME which is more costly than money to research things and then create a beautiful balanced ecosystem that does its own things that will make it eventually cost half as much a month just to keep it up eventually making it easier to expand patientce time and ofc as you said don't go cheap! Not everyone needs a full blown acro ready tank but over a few years evolving a tank into one is very feasible and healthier for your tank overall

Going through talk the information that you reference isn’t particularly good advice. This hobby is much simpler for which most people tell. The patience things is important but hand in hand with not needing to dive to much into the information library. 9 months strong with a none plumbed 80g acro tank with no mechanicals filtration. Only practice is just flow , light and daily water change. Also don’t dip right away set a separate system up for quarantine.
