grate video, I was going to look at dosing manganese my ICP showed low and I have the recomended dose to increase the level but how often would you dose it? so for example for me to get from 0.52 to 2 I need to dose 4.4ml but how can I test that it stays at that level? to know when to dose. I don't really want to do loads of ICP tests. Would you mind sharing how much you dose etc?
@queencitycorals12 сағат бұрын
I dose based on how many Gonis I have, the other thing is that manganese is very reactive and depletes quickly. I typically dose every other day and when I have a lot of Gonis I dose 3-5 mls. I would say if there’s a few Gonis .5-1 ml per week should maintain a steady level.

I got a red goni frag a few days ago, It's been in a 130 par spot with lower flow. It hasn't opened yet, should I be worried? Tank is a 5 year old 310 gallon with very stable parameters
@queencitycorals12 күн бұрын
That is completely normal, they usually take a few days to open fully as they adjust to your tank

hmm. as far as the iodine, do you only make it that brownish hue when using that particular dip? or should all iodine type dips be a slight tinge to it?
@queencitycoralsАй бұрын
I usually mix it so there is a tinge to it with all iodine dips especially if the iodine has that brown color. Some supplements are clear but typically all the dips will be brownish.

Awesome video. That is quite an undersized skimmer for such large water volume. Definitely been contemplating this with my new build. Do you think this is part of your success?
@queencitycorals2 ай бұрын
Thank you! For this system because we have so many corals compared to fish we dose nitrates and phosphates so a smaller skimmer is better because it still increases oxygenation and pH without removing too many nutrients.

Are you charging too much for what you take? Coral prices are Bonkers in my opinion. There is definitely not a shortage of anything unless it’s extremely rare. The market is overloaded with Euphyllia in my opinion. That’s what everyone seems to want and SPS. Prices are just ridiculous. That’s the whole idea and point of a frag swap is to save money over ordering online and taking the chance on overnighting anything live and actually seeing what you are purchasing. I just ordered fro a major online coral seller and I wasn’t impressed at all. Hope you do well.
