Good premise. But I think it may have been more effective if the teacher remained in the teaching position... but acted like a student. The way it plays, it's just a role reversal. For example, if the teacher sat at their desk (in the front of the room) and said, "yeah, I was thinking of grading your papers last night but The Walking Dead was on so... they'll be a little late." Students reply, "but we need those papers graded before the end of term!" Or, any of the many things teachers do that kids take for granted. Take 2.

This reminds me of a little story back in middle school. My teacher was showing us math with shapes. I already knew most of the stuff the teacher was showing us after a few days of learning, and me being the class clown was being obnoxious and telling her "We already know this!" So, the teacher decided, jokingly, to switch places with me, feeling since I "knew" everything, why not me be the teacher. With me in charge, the rest of the class was being rude, loud, and silly themselves. My teacher couldn't do anything since she was the student for the day. I'm someone who hardly shouts, so I couldn't yell at all my classmates while learning. Only to find it was a lot harder to teach with class being clowns. Eventually, I surrendered, and got back to my seat, red-faced. One of the best memories I had in my school years and she was one of my favorite teachers, and I never got to see her by the time I got to high school. But that's life for ya.

I am a teacher and I love it! I teach Grades 7 and 8. Yes, it can be very frustrating at times, but also very rewarding. You have to be able to relate to your students and treat them with respect. Once you do that, you earned their respect. If you are honest with them and you care, they will feel the same. Does this always happen? No... but there is no such thing as a perfect teaching reality. You don’t become a teacher to be rich and famous. You do it because you want to make a difference in young people’s lives. At lease, I hope most teachers feel this way. Working with my students is a great thing and I have been doing this for eighteen years! Be a teacher and make a difference!
@jakejaisaree95156 жыл бұрын
MsTeacher17 See you're inspiring! My teachers didn't care much about me. I was always the center of attention for them and they usually messed with me because I didn't like to do my work. I understand that trying to get a kid to work is annoying, but when you're a jerk teacher who only works for a paycheck and has lost excitement for their job and respect for their students, it makes it hard for me to understand why they think that way and it really put me down. I think my teachers took out their inner anger out on me. They saw that I was having emotional issues and for them to deal with themselves they'd pick on me. And the worse part is the students chimed in. So I lost my friends simply on the notion that I wasn't good enough. That continued for several years and screwed me up. But now that I've graduated, every bad experience in school I remember feeling is starting to fade away. So keep up the good work! Please try not to make your students feel worthless 👍
@fisebilillah44066 жыл бұрын
Jake Jaisaree Depends which school and where. Teaching as a professor in a madrassa (Muslim religious school) or yeshiva (jewish religious school) is good from what I have heard. The students are pretty much kisding your hands. And disclipine is one of the foundations. For example in Bosnian madrassas, if they catch you smoking first time you are usually punished with some minor detention. If they catch for the second time, you get a reproof. Catch you for third time, you are thrown out of school. In the Eastern lands, unlike in Amerikiyya (yes, that was on purpose) teachers can beat the students. So children are extremely disciplined.
