Know what, I'm actually really annoyed that she can get away with whatever she wants simply by saying that she was so scared and why is he scolding her instead of comforting her. When you're reckless and your life is constantly on the line and someone is having to rescue your butt all the time, you _deserve_ to be scolded. Instead, Ling Buyi takes the blame and is the one to apologize...like usual. When is the female lead ever going to take ownership for her impulsive decisions and actions?

Her character is no where perfact and have flaws & weak side but she is very clever strong emotionally mentally with a pinch of innocence & naughtiness...and if you are expecting her warrior then she is not ... physically she is not strong just like women of that times and she hate showing weak side of her to other which lu buyi understand and try to make her lower her wall in front of him in which he is almost successful ☺️

And with the budget being eaten up so much for the big name leads, I get happy when I see some of it spent on the areas that catch my eye. This is the first time costumes in a drama actually make my hands "itch" to reach out & touch and admire them, 🥰. *Self confessed fabric junkie.

It's true, the actors are big names and big amount too. I love the costumes the best. No matter how good the scripts and actors are, for me personally, costume matter more. I want to have a walk through the costumes. And it's nice to know your addiction. I understand it on a deep level.😁😎

I think the reasons why he allowed her to join him on the investigation, was partially due to her reason, that she explained with passion and sincerity. Also she was the only one to find the secret passage, thus showing her intelligence and eye for minute details, others easily miss. I'm not saying that he doesn't have a soft spot when it comes to her, but there maybe other reasons as well.

she in fact found the killer. And she did it for the empress, who was better than a mother to her. Anyway, she did go there with his permission and she was the only one who found the secret room, they couldn't even find it after she'd been measuring the building inside out in front of them. Please don't hate on the girl just because she's the girl and she doesn't act like a puppet for the betterment of the boy. She does that without being a puppet.

hmm what did she do wrong. She looked around at the crime scene nothing special. If LBY thought it was dangerous. He would have sent a guard along with her to protect her. He would also told the guard not to leave her side no matter what. But he didn't. So you can conclude that even LBY didn't expect this. Also who would have thought there would be a hidden room. The only mistake SS made was opening the room without telling the others outside.

I will argue it wasnt his time fearing for her. First time would be before they get together after the attack at Huo City where he is impaled by an arrow, discovers she was meant to arrive the day before with her uncle and aunt, cuts off the protuding arrow part and immediately goes looking for her. That would be his first real time fearing for her life.

4:35 Love that scene, the guy with the knife telling Ling to back off. Ling backs off, then ruthlessly proceeds to take the entire family hostage at sword point. And tells his soldiers to kill if necessary. Ya, his equivalent for tit-for-tat. He did not come to play, he came to slay (no pun intended😉).
