The painting of the golden knight slaying the silver dragon is a representation of the emperor fighting the void dragon when it came to earth in which the emperor won and locked it away in Mars very very very deep in the noctris labyrinth

@@odst123451 yes because there is the dragon cult in Mars that tech priest worship the void dragon either as the machine god of the real omnisiahh. And the heriteks know the void dragon is there and are preparing necron tech to use it as a weapon like what some necrons do with their ctan shards. And probably was the one that killed the raghadan during the xenocides because the DAOT weapons the emperor used had to have a power source somehow. So Mars is technically a tomb world and is probably why the mechanicus talks to machine spirits. I theorize the emperor fought and convinced the void dragon to aid or forced it to help the imperium in exchange for the dragon to eat the raghadan souls. Or just as a forced temp battery for the weapons which were in the noctris labyrinth.

Well the emperor wasn’t fighting the actual void dragon he was just fighting a shard of it after it Had been hit by the Blackstone fortresses which were created by the necrons and most of the shards had been destroyed one of the shards made it to earth and the emperor with the help of the Blackstone fortresses was able to beat the rest of the void dragon or the shard that’s in Mars and as a token or as a jester of goodwill the necrons gave the Blackstone fortresses to the emperor

Apocalypsis(Αποκάλυψις) is literally the direct translation of the word "Revelation" into Greek (both modern and ancient). And given that the Emperor is supposed to be from Anatolia(modern day Turkey), the place where supposedly one of the tribes that eventually became the Greeks hail from, it could possibly be why he used the name. Also the book of revelation(Apocalypse of John) was first written in Greek i think(i could be wrong though). That is the reference i think. The Emperor chose the name of the Last book of the Christian Bible to destroy the Last Church as well as convert the last priest. Kinda badass and ass-holish at the same time imo

I know right. You are correct in that, my reference was mostly to the common misconception, which the majority won't even bother looking up as they see the word " Apocalypses" ... And yes even, in the book it self it is stated by apostle John that he wrote it on the Greek island Patmos as he was a fugitive from the persecution of the Jewish leaders.

Yeah humans seem to have a problem with understanding the whole: Thou shalt not kill etc. when it is convenient or profitable. Hell Christianity had a rule of only defending the faith and not conquering areas and peoples, that were not previously Christians, by sword, then the first crusade happened and that rule went out of the window.

The Isrealites conquered territory all the time in the Bible, particularly the old testament. Though that practice was more commonly referred to by the nicer sounding "delivered unto your hands," when it's referenced directly. This is also the same book in which a guy literally murdered a bunch of people, cut off their foreskins, and basically bought a bride with them.

Most of his arguments are also false, or intentionally vague. You can say what you will about the good aspects of Chaos, but Bloodletters will murder the masses Uriah preaches to, Plaguebearers will still plague, kill and raise-as-undead them, a Lord of Change will turn them into writhing spawns and daemonettes will still destroy their minds with overwhelming sensory bombardment, mostly around pain. A good deed or aspect doesn't wash away the taint of an evil one nor vice versa, but Chaos is 70, 80% pure fucking evil, and there is not enough goodness on it to compensate that

Has a Chaos fleet ever emerged on Andromeda? As far as I know, their power is limited to where the beings projecting their existence are located, which is the Milky Way, for it was there where the War in Heaven took place. Perhaps other galaxies not eaten by the Nids have their own Immaterium with other gods of different nature. Imagine the Mass Effect galaxy. What is really crazy and idk if it was said is that all of this was Tzeentch's fault. If you read about Uriah talking about the lightning stone he talks about how the blind guy who diacovered it saw a face appear in blue fire when the stone was struck and he was able to see again. It does jot sound like he was healed but kore like his eyes....changed. And as we all know the squid's herald and iconogrophy is a blue fire and he changes things from one to another. After all imagine how different everything would have been had Uriah joined the emperor. It is possible he coild have been given life extending enhancements to let him live longer and I personally think had Uriah met Horus he would have essentially adopted him and thenother primarchs and treated them like humans instead of as tools possibly averting the heresy.

As critical of religion as I am, I simply can't endorse the Emperor's actions and philosophy. At the end of the day, it did just come down to him simply wanting power without contest. You have to wonder if Chaos became the way it did as a reaction to his attempt to destroy them.

If you flip it around then you’ll be correct. Emps only wants humanity to prosper and if he was such an evil power hungry person, why would he leave humanity to do it’s own thing for so long. He only came out to prevent humanity from being snuffed from existence meanwhile the chaos gods sat around and did nothing. Why did they do nothing? Because they prospered under the suffering. Also the emperor was correct in calling them a tumor, for sentient life had existed far before they did. They had only arrived after the War in Heaven, feeding off of the misery to grow as powerful as they are now. Heck, Chaos Undivided is a fantasy, for when the chaos gods had the emperor stuck to the throne did they sing together in harmony? Nope, immediately started causing suffering to everyone to feed themselves more since their sole reason for teaming up was a threat to their power.

The most interesting thing to me about 40k is that literally any better option would probably be dead by now. That's the gridlock of the setting. Unlike Halo or Independence Day, where we are a proud and sensible minority race, Or the likes of Mass Effect or Star Trek where we try to make friends with any and all aliens, The Imperium of Man is a technologically stagnant, xenophobic, extremely zealous galactic superpower that seeks to dominate all sectors. And, their rabid hatred and better-to-die-than-return-defeated determination is all that stands between sane, ordinary people and the horrors of the universe.

One argument I can make for the Emperor is that the Imperial Truth actually has a defined end-point at which its followers can say they're done. Same as it was during the Golden Age of Man - a galaxy at peace. I'm pretty sure the Emperor would be willing to retire back to being a professor of biology and the Immaterium once the rule of the galaxy is in the hands of the competent who are able to keep it that way, to stand the test of time. Chaos wants nothing more than to keep the cosmic slaughter going for their own gain. They can't even kill us, we are their sustenance.

Also... I'd like to know how would a man so thoroughly devoted to questioning - testing what is known as fact - and spreading the answers found from the process of self-refinement that all logic suggests the holy way of life would be; continuous self-improvement - would be deceived by a trick of perspective, to think amalgamations of the mental waste of soul-bearing organisms are supposed to be gods.

In my studies the which could admittedly still be improved the ultimate failure in every religion we know in the modern world is that they became organized even tho for example the Bible never called for the creation of a Church or Papacy or anything. As far as I have been able to understand it all of them were in some way shape and form initially created sort of akin to individual meditation which we know as prayer. But as with anything that starts out with good intent initially over time they are distorted by the people who instead of practicing these individual and deeply personal rituals notice that a whole bunch of people are doing it and so they decide to create small communities which then inevitably turn into political institutions which always always subvert the actual values initially proposed in these texts and are instead enforced by the upper echelons of these communities and yet what each and every single one of them then make the ultimate human folly of "Rules for the but not for me". This applies to any fully organized faith. Christianity, Orthodoxy, Islam, etc. And not only the true core values of all of these religions is subverted but the very things that are meant to give you a sense of personal piece even for a moment in a very cruel world are instead used as chains to extract from you. Inevitably whatever truly gives people regardless of background a sense of peace and genuine happiness will be politicized thus turning these things into the very chains that bind you. Whilst those binding you in said chains dont even bother following these rituals themselves. Science is nothing but the newest one. I think the lockdowns taught us all about that. Never mind the inconsistent flipflopping. What's grinds my gears is the audacity to after a sea of massive fuckups (some of which didn't even make sense on the outset to even suggest) come back again and say "Oh this time we know" only to literally a day or two later contradict yourself and fuck up again
@Bilskirnir3124
@Bilskirnir3124 3 жыл бұрын
This is always the problem with too much transparency in science. Science is not a body of facts or a ritual or a bedrock. Science is a process. It is a method used to arrive at mathematically and demonstrably provable information and law. Science can best be summarized by the phrase, "fuck around and find out." The problem of the last two years being people aren't used to seeing how much fucking around is needed before we find out. It can take decades to refine a hypothesis into a law or a theory (whichever is applicable to the topic at hand). Honestly I commend the people working on the current problem for the efficacy of their work. It's been fast and accurate compared to similar cases. Now, I will agree, some people do form a quasi-religion around science from some misguided belief that science will find some universal truth, but that isn't the function of science. Science is empirical and quantified. A universal truth would be unobservable and unquantifiable. It would therefore fall outside the realm of science and into the realm of philosophy where it belongs.
@InsomniacTC
@InsomniacTC 3 жыл бұрын
@@DeHerg The you have totally missed the point I was trying to make in the first place. Whether its religion or science it doesn't matter. My core point is that all of these methods over time become distorted when within either religious groups or scientific communities someone comes along and realises that these give them political or social clout and power and then the clout and power takes precedence over the actual methods and virtues that these methods teach. And as more and more people do so the peoples belief in them starts to decrease until a point is reached where people can outright see the bullshit which then in turn destroys any faith the people have in these systems. And I dont know where you got the idea that I said religion was formed through meditation. I never said that. What I said was the core teaching like per say fasting, prayer etc are essentially forms of meditation simply given a different name. Religions were formed when large groups of people in their time experienced something that for their understanding at the time made no sense and yet they felt the power and virtue of it and could all agree that whatever it was was crazy truly good. Where science can quickly lose a lot of people is when political scientists publically state "Alright we got it right this time" only to change it within a week and on and on and on whilst STILL constantly publically saying "we got it right this time". The issue isnt with the teachings or the methods. It's with people who will use them not for per say the scientific pursuit of truth but when they use these methods as a way of gaining power and influence and lording it over people like some superior authority. The people lose faith when the method or ritual become a show rather than the pursuit of truth or virtue. And my core point was that all things will inevitably reach a point where people have no faith in you or believe you if all you do is put on a show that the people can see the backstage of where all of the "wise" and "pious" men are fucking kids, stoning women, turning men to slaves and justifying it as their lot in life or saying anything publically just so an investigation isnt launched to find that not only do you not know what you are talking about in the slightest but also that you say helped fund the creation of the modern version of the black death. Science is different because you can deny the METHOD to be true. But the results of said method being told to you can be distorted like any other religion.
@InsomniacTC
@InsomniacTC 3 жыл бұрын
@@DeHerg In short my point is that no matter how virtuous or accurate a method or system might be never underestimate the power of how greedy and self-serving people can be. And both religion in the past and science to day hold a weight of societal power.

You talked about the Christian view of creation being about the first man and woman and that is wrong, the first Man and Woman was the end of creation not the beginning, there were Billions of years passed in the 6 days God created everything, and I’d wager it’s due to the fact his time is infinitely longer than ours in almost every way, quite literally entire species have been born lived for centuries or millennia in the time a single day for God would have passed. We can’t compare our time to his so the arguments both for and against that thought process of the Christian view of creation is wrong.

You forget that in Christianity with Adam and Eve they were never meant to be taken literally, they were meant to be symbolic. If Christianity does indeed believe Adam and Eve were the first humans and created the human race, then that is objectively wrong.

Apocalypse isn't necesarilly "apocalyptic events" Well, now it is, but it also means "beginning of the end" or simply "the end" Before saying "when in reality it isn't" like you did, just, you know, trust how the 2 languages that are the closest to the original (Italian and French) call things. There is an *ENORMOUS* ammount of words English borrowed from those 2 languages that completely changed sense or became the opposite, because why the fuck not. Well, we know why, English is an extremelly poor language, but still...
