could you please clarify why the title of moshiach needs the modifier of shebidor? Does this imply someone of each generation and also someone who will ultimately be moshiach for the whole world and rest of time? I'm confused by what you mean by a moshiach of this generation...

In evrey generation there is someone qualified to be moshiach if the generation merits it and there are nothing that hinders it.in our generation the rebbe has informed us that our generation the generation of redemption and that we merit it and there is nothing hinders. Therefore says the rebbe in the discourse of וירא5752 moshiach not only exists but is also revealed. Meaning its not like all the other generations when there was a candidate that maybe could be moshiach rather in our generation there is someone that actually is moshiach and has already started the process of his revelation to the entire world

How many times did the Rebbe encourage singing Yechi? I think only once and on another occasion the Rebbe showed displasure at singing Yechi. Correct me, if I'm mistaken.

You are mistaken. 1.the rebbe never discouraged the singing of yechi rather it was a different song chayolei adoneinu. 2.the rebbe encouraged yechi at least hundreds of times.

How did R Yehudah Hanusi know he's a nusi? I respect the argument in the video which concludes he did. The title "If the Rebbe discouraged saying Yechi and he is Moshiach, why do people say it anyways?" is misleading. As per the video people say it because he indeed encouraged it. In fact no need for a video altogether.

The title of the video is based on the fact the there were times when the Rebbe said not to sing yechi it to publicize that he is Moshiach. As of the video, I think it is mainly aimed towards the Chabad community, meaning people that have a bit of an idea of what is happening inside Chabad (and their feelings towards the Rebbe differs from just anybody else...) And some Lubavitchers won't take this as the final argument. (Although it is popular Lubavitch belief that the Rebbe is actually Moshiach, some still refrain from publicly) announcing it

Are you saying that at first, the Rebbe didn't think he was Moshiach - later he did think so? Can you tell me what changed to created this state of affairs? Why did he not clearly make the claim that he is Moshiach, to avoid all the controversy about his intentions?

He allways knew he's Moshiach the rebbe wanted that the the oilem shld be more פנימית then just singing Yechi, he wanted we should do למעשה תורה מצוות and do things to bring moshiach now, but as the generation changed i guess the Rebbe felt that if ppl sing in it makes them do good things then sing nothing wrong of singing look in the Gemara דבי רב they said our rebbe is moshoiach דבי שמואל said our rebbe is moishach

Rabbi I really don't understand. I am not a lubavitcher chossid but I think that it's clear that the Rebbe was the moshiach of the generation. BUT!! Why should anyone say yechi nowadays?!?!?!?

As Arizal states, Moshiach comes, then is concealed, and then is revealed again. Rashi explained that when Moshe went up for 40 days and the last day the Jews made a golden calf, it is because they were shown a funeral of Moshe, where angels were carrying Moshe in a casket. Lubavitcher Chassidim believe (some more vocal and some less vocal out of fear) that the same happened here. The "levaya" on 3 Tammuz 5754 was that same deception, maasei Soton. And the Rebbe is Chai VeKayom beguf Gashmi. The fact that we don't see him is a concealment on our part. Therefore, proclamation of "Yechi" makes more sense now than anytime before, as we want and demand the complete and final Geulah and want to see the Rebbe MHM shlit"a with our physical eyes. Yechi Adoneinu Moreinu Verabeinu Melech HaMoshiach Leoliom Voed.

@@zevkagan8321 I was at the Levaya on Gimmel Tammuz. People walked before Rabbe's open coffin with his form wrapped in his Tallit, to ask Mechila. The top of the coffin was made from the in-layed wood table that the Rabbe spoke in Yechidus at. I heard tamberines, but saw no dancing. Everything was solemn. The Buchrim ran after the hearse. There was no denial at the event.

At the Farbrengung on Parashat Pinchas 1985 the Rebbe demanded that the Hasidim stop discussing whether he was Mashiach or not, because such talk was turning people away from Hasidut, and therefore pushing Mashiach away. Nevertheless, the Rebbe continued to proclaim that the previous Rebbe was in fact Mashiach. Rabbi, you are old enough to remember that and what shock it made in Chabad! After that, as far as I know, nobody in Chabad dared to say outright that the Rebbe was Mashiach until after the Rebbe's stroke. After the Rebbe's stroke, when the Rebbe could not speak, only then, the Hasidim start the Yechi song. Only one time did the Rebbe gester encouragement to sing Yechi. On another occasion when they sang Yechi, the gestered disapproval. I wondered if Rebbe tolarated Yechi because the Rebbe intended it to refere to the previous Rebbe which he consistently proclaimed to be Mashiach. Let the truth out!!!

There were many times when the Rebbe told the Chasidim to stop proclaiming that he is Moshiach (outright) and for a short while the Chasidim stopped but then continued... It is also important to mention that when the Rebbe would refer to the previous Rebbe as Moshiach he added "and his continuation" (והמשיכו שלאחריו). As of after the stroke, every time the Rebbe would come out on the balcony, there were gestures of encouragement, there was no time when the Rebbe protested.

Actually in a sicha from nun beis (parshas vayeira i think) the Rebbe Mh"M said mori chami nasi bedoreinu moshiach bedoreinu UMEMALEI MEKOMO (and his replacement [meaning himself]). The Rebbe there clearly points out that he is the Moshiach of the generation - our generation. May we all be zoche to see the Rebbe speedily in our days, and with Hashems help may he take all of Klal Yisrael out of golus NOW!

You overlooked an important point here; the ONLY reason not to publicise the Rebbe is moshiach that was ever given is as you said, 'because such talk was turning / or could turn people away from Hasidut/judaism.' But in of it itself, this belief with the Rebbes encouragement has always been there. It's on the part of the 'publicizer' to use tact to assess his circumstances wether publicizing such a fact will have a positive or negative effect on those who will hear it. If negative, then its probably better keep it on the low but the moment some interest has been shown then who are we to keep such 'secrets' to ourselves..
