***** I don't see the fuss either, he's a little annoying and I don't really want him to sit next to me at dinner, but I can stand a 6 minute video just fine. On the other hand though, those "respectless jealous little nothings driving old Toyotas" are the same people who come back week after week to watch this show and most of the time they don't complain, so that says something about this particular episode. Intolerant as they may be, Petrolicious usually commands a high enough standard to keep everyone happy.

If you want a good M Coupe, unless you live in the U.S (25 year import rule) you should check out japanese auction sites, like Pacific coast auto, brave auto international etc. I've seen some great condition M Coupes in Japan with low mileage for genuinely low prices. Get to know the japanese market and the exporters, you won't regret it.

Surprised at the negativity levelled at the guy. The car is a rare piece of engineering with one of the greatest NA engines ever built powering it-he deserves credit for driving it as it was intended, instead of keeping it as a garage queen. Plus this vid makes me want to take flying/hand gliding lessons
@Mantenner7 жыл бұрын
Don't know why everyone dislikes him, he's quite inspirational. His point stating "I've tapped out the car, so now I need to improve the driver" is one of the truest statements I've ever heard. Many a driver attempts to beef up their car to compensate for their lack of skill, his modesty in admitting he is now the weak point along with his incredible hobbies and skill set had him gain my respect.

Crazy story coming up: When I started looking for another Z3 M Coupe I stumbled on the M Coupe Buyers Guide and Jon Martin who then found the car I would buy in Colorado about an hour from his place. My wife and I flew out on a Saturday, bought the car, then drove over to a hanger to meet Jon and his friend who had a cool garage of race cars, M cars. The guy was super cool and happened to be a pilot. About a month goes by when I'm just watching KZbin videos and come across this one and immediately shout, "That's Alex!!!!!" I forgot to mention that I had previously watched this video about a month before I purchased my car without knowing anything about Alex and then meet him without knowing I had already seen him before

Awesome vid, excellent production. Alex is very passionate about flying and BMWs. He also rescues unloved E30's, breathes live back into them, and passes them on to others to enjoy. He's the real deal, a good friend, and not a d-bag. Well, he's a pilot, so that always carries a lot of d-baggage, but piloting is not for the timid. He's a great guy that enjoys a great, quirky car. There's actually quite a few clownshoes here in Colorado. Don't drink the hatorade.

I don't see why everyone hates this guy. What did he say that made him sound like a douche? To me, his analogy between driving and hang-gliding made perfect sense, and was probably an excellent way to describe how driving his BMW made him feel. People are quick to throw stones man...wow. How is this guy a "douchebag"? He has great hobbies, enjoys life and frankly sees the picture pretty clearly. He loves the car for the right reasons, wants to improve himself as a driver, etc. One of the biggest similarities I see with a lot of pure car guys is the connection of flight to driving and racing. I loved planes and cars since I born...both have played a constant role. Flying and driving are what makes me exist. I wish I had more money to fly, but unfortunately my cars take it all. Stop being haters people...for real.

Since 2007 I've had the privilege of owning a z3m coupe. I work in the hedge fund industry so I have tried all sorts of porches (996, 997, 991, 968, 982, 981, 986, 987) and the gt3 gen1 997 and 997 gt2 excluded, I have more fun in my Z3M coupe. The magic lies in the way it communicates with the driver. It is still, almost 20y old, one of the most rewarding cars I have driven. I have spun out at ex mhühle ones in the wet, but survived. My friend owns a Z4m coupe and its good as well, but that is more of a modern car and not comparable. + 100 rounds around the Nurburgring and still going strong, Estoril blue z3m coupe with the s50b32 engine.

To get so annoyed by the owner to the degree as some people here says a lot about these people. Maybe they have too high opinion about themselves and can't stand it when the bubble bursts. Unfortunately this kind of intolerance and personal attacks are very wide spread and I guess it's because most think they are entitled to more or think they have the right to judge others 24/7 as soon as people are a bit different.

In the Fall of 1997 or 8,, I drove from VaBch through Charlottesville VA on my way to an interview with an Insurance company. As I was driving through campus and town, I passed the dealership (BMW) on my right and I remember in a row of AT LEAST 5 (I don't think I am exaggerating though I may have due to my excitement, I think it was more like 7 in quantity!) M Coupes lined up in front of the dealership in various colors! I will never forget that sight! They were all parked on a grass embankment in front right of the dealership. The dealership was set back a ways from the front. It was a cloudy day. My brother and his next door neighbor(Doc) both owned the Z3 2.8 with the sport pkg on their cars during this time

Talking about the car isn't really interesting unless you can talk about the person and the story behind the car. That's where the passion is. This guy seems pretty humble to me. He is passionately explaining why he loves the car and other hobbies in a reserved and frank way. It's an inspiring and interesting video. Is the hate on here jealousy? Going back to the car - I always wanted one of these since 18 and bought one a few years ago. However, I only kept it for a year as I actually didn't find it that good. I was disappointed after wanted one for over a decade. The engines are not that exciting, a wide power band but still lacking torque low down and no real rush or excitement from it. Also, the steering was dull and didn't give a real connected feel. The car had some seriously high limits and was seriously quick but it just didn't feel like it. I have a completely standard e30 325i se and this gave me so much more excitement when I bought it 17 years ago. So much so that I still have it and will not part with it :-)
the famous Elephantshoe, note also the Tapir-nosed hood; first Chris Bangle crime. I never forget that a BMW-Manager told me that many were shocked when the Maestro presented the new 7-series to them (guess in 1998) but after "he explained" his Design, nearly everybody was satisfied at the end. I thought to myself: whatttt theeee .......
