still bringing up baker..... obviously baker is not a top 5 or all time great qb. but the whole situation is equivalent of this. I hand you a longhorn steakhouse steak. you say its not good enough because its not the quality of ruths chris. so you decide to throw away the long horn steak and get some taco bell. that is what the browns did with baker mayfield. was he great? no but he was good enough. if we put a real team around him we could have been better off. he never had a solid #1 reciever. and then stefanski decided to make him look even worse when he was injured to justify moving off of him. the leadership on this team is not good. they dont evaluate talent well. they dont develop talent either. who have they developed? most players have regressed. newsome, emerson are biggest examples. unfortunately we will draft a qb and not have a good season, gm and coach will be gone. we are just delaying the real process. stefanski has never been apart of a developing a young qb. what makes you think he will do it with our rookie?

How is he better? By playing on a better team, with a better coach, a run game, and a good defense? If Sam Darnold was QB for the 2024 Browns, the results would look the same; probably worst since your O-line was bad because of scheming and Darnold held the ball just as long as Watson.

Getting a top QB isn't easy since in reality, there are only a handful in the League, Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, maybe a couple more. The next group of 20 QB's are all about the same, they can be good with a real good team around them and solid coaching. After that, not so much. In all honesty, how would Mahomes' career have been if he was drafted by the Bears, Jets, Panthers, Browns, etc. He certainly wouldn't even be in the goat conversation at all!
