Now they have changed by adding one word at the end again in the Samoan green hymn book: It’s called “Pe a Faigatā Le Ala, Taumafai!” I love this singing this song growing up

If the way be full of trial , weary not; If it’s one of sore denial weary not; If it now be one of weeping, There will come a joyous greeting, When the harvest we are reaping, weary not. Do not weary by the way Whatever be thy lot There awaits a brighter day To all, to all who weary not If the way be one of sorrow, weary not; Happiness will be the morrow, weary not; Here we suffer tribulations; Here we must endure temptation, But there’ll come a great salvation, weary not If misfortunes overtakes us,weary not; Jesus never will forsake us, weary not; He will leave us never, never, From his love there’s naught can sever, Glory to the lamb forever, weary not.

During my days of adversity, trials and afflictions, I alongside my stake choir presented this song at our Conference, this stood as my pillar of support and testimony that whatever be my lot, Jesus will never forsake me and he never did. This song is a song of testimony to me. I'm glad listening to it again.

The tabernacle choir should perform this song more often. Even though it is one of Pres. Monson's favorite hymns, he might have inspired this choir to use this hymn often. Miss him as always. But this hymn has such a great message, especially "consider the lilies". They should perform that one more often too.

I can't believe 9 people actually gave a thumbs down to this. How can light hurt so much into some people's ears and eyes? (sigh). Thanks goodness hundreds instead liked it. I love the message of this hymn, we sang do many times when I joined the church in Brazil 40 years ago. My mom joined short after and one of the ladies here looks just like her. 1000 thumbs up for this.

President Monson attended a stake conference in salt lake city and it was a Tongan stake where they sung this obviously in Tongan. He asked what the song was and wondered why it isn't in the english hymns anymore but then asked that it be sung at the very next General conference and this is the result of his request. #Angelicvoices #Mormontabernaclechoir

This hymn is popular for the Samoans too, was in the old blue hymnals but was missing when the green ones rolled out, in fact many popular hymns were missing too which was unpopular with the Samoans at the time, but they just went with whatever Salt Lake said.

I'm currently doing the online MTC, learning Portuguese. My teacher said this was her favorite hymn in the Portuguese hymn book and wishes it were in the English one. We even tried to sing it today in class, but the website didn't have any music, so I just messaged her asking for the title so I could check it out. This is awesome! I think I'm gonna try to learn it on the piano so we can sing it in class sometime. I just really hope she doesn't read this comment before then, because I want it to be a surprise. :-) But I mean, the likelihood she reads this exact comment is so slim I'm not worried in the slightest.
