Thank you for helping them. Had a neighbor drill a dry well and had no $ to repeat. Sad. Nice work Scott - as usual.

I would have never guessed you could have a low producing well in North Carolina or anywhere east of the Continental Divide. This video gives me hope for a low producing well in the West. Maybe we just need a better pump and a giant cistern.

thanks for showing the hydrant details. I'm getting ready to install one tomorrow and hadn't thought about the two elbows, but it completely makes sense. I was also wondering how to protect the gravel around the drain and the bucket/landscape fabric should work perfectly. off to the store to get more supplies in the morning. thanks!

Thank you for the bucket idea along with using 2 street els. I have one I need to replace and a new one to add. May I suggest driving a T-post beside the hydrant and then tying it together with wire in a couple of places. Sure helps stiffen up a hydrant.

Theres good evidence that swales on contour can increase recharge rate of wells. There appears to be plenty of elevation change on that property for some nice swales. Capture that water, spread it, and sink it and it should increase the recharge rate of that well. If that's not your property, perhaps you should tell the landowner to look into it and you may have yourself some work putting in some swales.

Black poly pipe is popular on the flat here, so cheap and the coils are gigantic.

At 15:18 you mentioned a "simple pump" in the 800' well. Is that a hand operated pump and will it lift water that high?
@engineer775
@engineer775 4 жыл бұрын
Yes the well is 800 ft deep but the static water level is 60 ft so we set the simple pump down around 150. So there's at least 130 gallons of storage in this size casing that they can hand pump out as the well slowly recovers everyday.

Nice that the money to drill the well was not wasted . That system must have cost a small fortune. The well at my far is 225ft deeps and I get 26 GPM. The well at my house is 327ft deep with 29 GPM I guess I got lucky. Thanks for showing

The cistern at the top of the hill. Can that be buried underground as long as the elevation is high enough?

Nice job. so does the pump switch on when it detects low pressure in the line and the water is above the low water mark on the pump, and an interval timer as well ?

curious... why schedule 80 pvc in the well rather than the standard (to my knowledge) black poly pipe... is it the pressure rating? 600 ft in the well = circa 260 PSI? hehe... :950... yaw pitch and roll!

I have a well that gives me about 500 liters a day. The well is 55m and the Pump is at 52m. I use 2, 535W panels to pump the water to a 2.5l tank that is 2 meters above ground. The pump head is 95 meters. The well is pretty new, about 3 months old. Fracking or getting it deeper is not an option as I have build structures around it thus drilling will mean demolishing the structures just to get access to the well. The question is. Will I run out of water? After how long?
