This is so true. I went to Europe from Great Britain to Greece for 2 months. I had my wallet pick-pocketed in France at the Eiffel Tower, and a second time in Greece at the Acropolis. I went to China from Beijing to Guangzhou for 2 months, travelling to many Cities, Theatres, and I also did West Lake as well, and I had nothing stolen.

when i was on a europe tour a few years ago. the tour guide told us to be extra careful as 2 tourists' passports were stolen on a previous tour. when i was on another tour in paris, the tour guide pointed to 2 young girls and told us to be careful as those 2 young girls were pick-pocketers. i think as a tourist, common sense caution is very important regardless of where they are. love from canada.

When most of the Chinese population managed to live a respectable life, people take moral standard seriously. It might not be the case 40 years ago. Very true about decades ago and now. Same can be said about Nordic countries. Decades ago nobody steals and the people normally let the house unlock and left the car key in the vehicle, esp. in Iceland. Nowadays with rapid immigration, things are quite different esp. in Scandinavia.

I was in Berlin and our vehicle was broken into one night. They stole suitcases, cameras, binoculars etc. The thing about it is they seemed to have keys to open the door. They stole the stuff and locked back the door.

Almost impossible to believe. But seeing is believing. I could see many instances that everything especially the phone would have gone within minutes if not seconds if it was at our place. And surely the money bag would be stolen in a jiffy. That bag is big and inviting too. Usually these are the things we never do in public. Way too easy to be stolen. And our place isn't Italy. It's in South East Asia.

I had seen several times in SEA, people would step on the money / small valuable items and pretended to look after their shoes, just to take the items away, even if they knew whom dropped it. Not necessarily the poor people.

Exactly true in China today, but not in my memory of China 20+ years ago. I remember when I was a junior high school student living in Wuhan, China 30 years ago, I saw two tourists from some European country walking in a local shopping mall with their backpacks totally mouth-open and empty, and yet they did not realize what happened. And I felt very sorry for them at that time, since I knew thefts were totally common everywhere in China then. Now it's been 30 years, and I've been to Japan, USA and Canada experiencing a lot. Japan is still good today in respect of personal safety, public hygiene and social order, but not so with USA and Canadian cities. I would really say it's horrible in cities in North America, especially in USA. European cities? No good news from my friends travelling there, either...... Sadly it's a common European guy's turn now living in Rome or Paris or Stockholm to feel sorry for tourists from China being stolen or robbed of their belongings. Thirty years is a period not that long, but things do happen and things do change. The chessboard has been turned.

I used to live in London and there was one time my friend and I were crossing a street in central London. My friend was on a phone call, holding an iPhone while crossing. Suddenly there appeared a biking robber who rushed towared us and took my friend's iPhone while he was biking, and then quickly disappeared on the streets. My friend and I were left shocking... Never seen this happens anywhere else in the world

其实人心里的恶或多或少都会有一点。但是我相信教化可以让世界更美。中国现在的教育水平越来越好，年轻人的教育水平和素质肯定是大幅提升的。而且大城市，大家都更在乎自己的声誉。不管怎么说，相信好人是大多数，同时也尽可能保护好自己，不给小部分的坏人可乘之机。

You don't know what kind of people will come to China, make a bomb and place it on the road side. So, it is better for people to play safe and alert if there is a suspicious looking bag on the walk ways especially on such a busy area. People should be cautious of dangers no many how safe that country is and many terrorists were just normal people converted by extremists.

I almost got pickpocketted 3 times in Paris. And the 1st attempt was right after I got off the airplane, onto the metro to go into town. I was in Paris for less than 30 minutes and they tried to distract me and take my backpack which I left on the seat next to me. Then while hopping onto the metro at the eifel tower, a guy tried to unzip my backpack while walking behind me.

欧洲大城市（我的经验是除了北欧，那里是真的很安全）治安都比较差，特别是旅游国家。幸运的是，我从来没有被偷过。在德国的小城市，治安还是很安全的。我在火车上丢的东西，忘在取款机前的现金都找回来了。我儿子从上学第一天我就没接送过，所以我觉得还是比较安全的。当然我住的只是小镇。

现在中国的城市里的确很安全，主要原因大概有两个，一个是无处不在的摄像头会立即发现偷窃行为，立即被抓住。另一个是现在中国人很少使用现金，使得成功偷钱的概率很小。而对于中国人来说偷窃几百块钱没有什么吸引力，反而被抓的风险太高。

Luca's footage can be used in court as evidence 🥰 6:12 is also tricky because the thief might think that the stuffs belong to people near by the tree. And if the stuffs have no one around them, then they can be considered 'abandoned' That is, western law's essence : "you can keep something you have found on the street or out in public if you believe it has been abandoned" To prove that there is not 'pickpocket', you need to dress up very 'fancy' to attract attention : Pickpockets work in team and calculate 'risk vs reward'

每个国家都有好人和坏人。只是平均来说的话，中国经济发达的一二线大城市因为近年大部分居民的经济条件都好了，受教育程度也比较高，加上城市里监控多很容易被抓到，相对小偷要少很多。但在经济不发达地区和三四线城市还是有不少的，所以无论在哪里照看好自己的财物还是要的。话说回来，不一定是小偷，就算是空瓶子，说不定转眼都被勤俭的老太太当废品捡去卖了。
