Yup, soft once per turn effects. Flip the cards face-down and face-up again, or remove them from the field and return them to the field, and you get to use the effects again. Also, I already knew this, but it's interesting to me that, from the beginning of XYZ monster rules, XYZ monsters flipped face-down don't lose their materials.

I tried that once with the original book of moon in duel links on my predaplant chimera. I first banished one monster my opponent controls then used book of moon on it. The moment i flipped it face up it basically ignored i used the effect once even though the card says “once per turn”

Soft OPT can be used again after a flip summon. I once used Blue-Eyes Alternative to pop 2 monsters using Book of Moon

Well yeah, if they flipped face down, it's lose the once per turn restriction (due rule of flipped card down lose the information on that card) And flip it face up again and it's become new one and reuse it's effect again (only for once per turn monster effect that can do that)

If Gustav Max had "only once per turn" as its condition, no matter how many times I would flip Gustav up and down via Book of Taiyou + Book of Moon and alike, I could only deal 2000 damage regardless of the amount of Gustav Max present. However, with "once per turn", even if I have one Gustav, I can deal 2000 damage forever as long as I have endless Book of Taiyou + Book of Moon. To sum up, "once per turn" can reset the card in question but "only once per turn" couldn't. Hope it helps but if not, you can look up further in Yugipedia
