The truth never ends. Thy Word Lord is truth. This hymn was written by Georg Neumark in the year 1641. Truth speaks to all generations no matter what issues are at hand, and the combination of poetry and music is one of the most powerful means of conveyance. Dr. Wayne Grudem, Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, writes in his Systematic Theology, 1994, p. 225, "This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful hymns ever written that expresses trust in God for his sovereignty." I have a few questions about your church and pastor... Does your church have a 501c3 tax exemption permit from the government? If it does then it is not a scriptural church. The church is always the people and they never gather in a building that is permitted by the government. Does your pastor teach about paying a tithe...that's not in scripture either. Do you hold to the Authorized KJV as the only pure word of God? The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (Psa 12:6-7 KJV)
